GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever will be.
Refrain:
Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand hath provided;
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.    Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!     Refrain

This hymn has been going around in my head for a couple of days now.

I just think that God’s faithfulness is great, that he cares for us in all seasons of our lives, that He is watching over us at all times.

God blessed our children this past week with Encouragement Awards at the Eisteddfod we attended. These awards are funds to help with their music tuition. This was such a blessings as we have been behind with their music fees this year.

We couldn’t believe it, and we were so excited and thankful. I was sitting there as they were getting ready to announce the awards thinking “Oh Lord it would be wonderful it one of the children won one”, but I didn’t think it would happen.  Not because I didn’t think God could do it but because there were so many other children who played so well and were deserving of an award.

So when they both won one, it was wonderful.

As our oldest daughter said God blessed the children for their diligence in practicing and in turn that blessed us as a family.

When everyone had settled down, I had time to think about how blessed we are and how God is faithful to supply all our needs.

Great is His faithfulness

GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #34

Welcome back to another Good Morning Mondays. I am looking forward to hearing from you all this week and would love to hear how your week has been.

Ours started off with a whole day at our local Eisteddfod. I know I have been talking about this for a few weeks, well the day finally arrived. The children were all practiced up and ready to go.

We spent the whole trip in talking to both of them about humility and as I have said before these competitions are great for character growth.

It was a big day but the children did really well. No 2 son got one First Place and an Honourable Mention and No 2 daughter got two Firsts Places.

They were thrilled and received medals and a small cash prize as well.DSC_1548

Here they are with their medals. No 2 daughter is wearing the dress I made her and she was really thrilled with it. It turned out very well.

After such a big day out I was really tired for a couple of days but I seem to be on top of it now.

My husband and I were able to go out for tea before our Revelation Bible Study. It was lovely to go out together as we haven’t been able to do that for months.

Saturday we went on a tour of some historical sights and I will put up a post about that hopefully later in the week. We counted it as a history lesson and it was very interesting.

Our No 1 son and our No 1 daughter and her family have gone camping this past weekend so they stopped in on their way and of course it was great to see them. The girls are growing so quickly and are just so cute. We had a lovely lunch together and then they headed off for the Otways which is about an hour and a half drive from here.

It is a long weekend here so they are only getting home on Monday night but from what we’ve heard so far they are having a great time.

Sunday afternoon was lovely, it was cold outside and we were able to have a nice restful afternoon.

Okay onto our link up…

I know that I normally only feature the top three posts but because the top three were all written by the same lady I decided to feature the top six.

Wow there were some great posts linked up this week and it was hard to pick a favourite but Aimee’s post really hit a chord with me.

Thank you to all of you for taking the time to link up and thank you for all your comments, you don’t know how much it blesses me.

I have a couple of prayer requests and I ask that you remember Mr H and his wife and family in your prayers. He has started chemo again and is struggling a bit. Also Mrs E is having a new stent put in her heart this Thursday morning. Please pray that God blesses her and keeps her well so that the operation can go ahead.

I have a bit of a busy week. We are cooking for the Gideons on Monday night and they are coming here which will make it easier.

No 2 daughter is turning 10 this Wednesday and we are having a bit of a party for her on Friday night with a couple of close family friends.

Between that I need to sew a couple of sleep suits for some friends for their son, and some curtains for the boys bedroom, to keep out the cold.

I am so sorry that this has been such a long post but I wanted to show you one more picture.

This is a picture of a paddock that we pass on our way to town and the swans have arrived.

They say you can tell how high the water is going to get by how high the swans build their nests. I just like looking at them because they are beautiful.

Well that’s all or enough for this week, and I hope you all have a blessed week and that those of you in the Northern Hemisphere are enjoying your summer and those of you in the Southern Hemisphere are keeping warm and cozy.

GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #33

Hey there, how’s it going.  It is very cold as I am sitting here writing this. I think this day must be the coldest and dampest day so far and tomorrow is looking the same, but that’s okay because tomorrow is the first day of winter.

Again I wonder where the year is going .

I have had a good week although I have been tired, not too sure why, maybe a big weekend with family last week, has left me worn out, but it was so worth it.

I spent most of the week at home although we did go to our friends place for a sewing afternoon on Thursday. The girls probably only have another session left and they will be finished sewing their quilts. Then it will be the snipping of all the seams to come – they have made raggy quilts.

I managed to finish the dress for our daughter to wear to the Eisteddfod tomorrow and it looks great. I will post a photo next week with their results.

They are both excited, and I think a little nervous, but nerves are okay. We have had discussions about doing their best, and about how it isn’t all about winning and how they should react when they don’t win and that they should be happy when someone else wins and congratulate them. This is such a good character building exercise, and they have fun as well.

Our piglets have been weaned and we are in the process of selling them. We have sold 13 already and we have 11 left to go.  Here is a picture of them in the wool shed enjoying a warm corner.

We still have a heap down the paddock to butcher and we are hoping to get this done in a couple of weeks.

Our oldest son turned 20 on Friday so Saturday night we had a special birthday tea with a couple of his friends.They seemed to have a good time and spent most of the night watching DVD’s in our lounge. It is so nice that our son has such lovely Christian young men as friends.

Okay enough about us again.

Thank you to everyone who linked up. I had fun reading all your posts and as usual I laughed and I cried and I learnt some new things.

I hope you all had a chance to stop by and read something new and comment on someone else’s post. This is so encouraging for others.

Well as I have said the Eisteddfod is tomorrow so we will be out all day at that. Then on Tuesday night we have our Revelation Bible Study.

We might fit in another sewing afternoon as well this week as my friend is pretty busy for the rest of the month.

On Saturday afternoon we are going on a bus trip to visit sites in relation to a certain missionary who came to this area 150 years ago. Places we will visit are where he lived, his first churches, cemeteries. We thought that this would be interesting and part of our history studies.

Well I hope that you all have a good week and that you and your family will be blessed.
