STAY FOCUSED

With the world going crazy around us we must remember to

STAY FOCUSED

When you feel like you are standing on a square of ice in the middle of the ocean, where there is nothing to hang onto

STAY FOCUSED

When Governments turn away from God and His word,  we must remember to

STAY FOCUSED

When even our own churches won’t stand on the word of God we must remember to

STAY FOCUSED

When our family don’t support our decisions regarding God’s plans for our lives we must remember to

STAY FOCUSED

When even our friends turn their backs on us, we must remember to

STAY FOCUSED

But what do we focus on,  we need to keep our focus on God, on His word,  on His plans for us.

Man will let us down and fall away from God, but God and His word will never fall away, we must stand on it, hold onto it’s truths and never let go.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Colossians 3:2 – Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

    1. I don’t know Laura, but I do know that there are so many things that take our attention from God. Maybe in the good old days before electricity and electronic gadgets they only had work and God. This is a time I wish my mum was still alive and I could ask her. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings to you and yours.

  1. Yes, dear friend! What an encouraging post! It is SO hard sometimes to focus on what we need to, but God’s Word is the only truth and absolutes. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand! God help me to stay focused on only You in these trying, discouraging times!

  2. Amen! It is hard to stay focused when we see the world around us in such a whirlwind of activity that would take us away from our first Love. I don’t know about there, but here the churches are going farther away from the bible and many dont’ bother to even use one, the music has went from hymns to heavy metal, and so on. Old fashioned bible preaching and hymns are very hard to find anymore. And we’ve had a flurry of people who are being fired, sued, and so on for simply standing on their convictions as a Christian, with our government making laws that will soon make it illegal for us to be Christians.

We have to stay focused, or we’ll lose that and be lost in the world.

    1. Oh Angie you have definitely hit the nail on the head and are so right. Our own church leadership is not totally following scripture and it is so hard to know what to do. We know to follow what God’s word says, but do we continue to worship there or go somewhere else?? We are finding that no church has it totally right and we need to worship somewhere. We like where we go because we mostly have hymns and the preaching is quite good and we have fellowship with other believers. I have heard that in America now if you refuse to cater for a gay wedding because of your Christian beliefs you will be sued, that is just terrible. As Cheryl said in a comment before “On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand”. Praise God he gives us something to stand on. Blessings to you and your family my friend. xxxx

  3. Thank you for reminding us to stay focused in the midst of personal and global struggles and disappointments.

I was encouraged as I read the verse in Isaiah 40:8 that you shared that the Word of the Lord will stand forever no matter how disillusioned we may become with the church and the world around us.

Thank you for spurring us on to stay the course and to stay in His Word. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Karen for stopping by and sharing with us. We must stand together and cry out to God for our nations and churches and also stand on the word of God, it is eternal. Blessings to you xxxx

    1. Thanks again Heather for your kind comment, and yes you are so right, keeping God as our focus definitely helps us keep life in perspective. Blessings and have a great week.

  4. Getting distracted is so easy, we don’t even notice it sometimes. It sneaks up on us until all of a sudden we are disconnected from God and His word.
We pride ourselves with being busy all the time, if we are not busy we aren’t worth anything or so we think. We aim not to offend, but what we really are doing is being distracted and separated from God’s word.
Staying focused – what a great reminder and such an encouraging post!!

  5. I wholeheartedly agree, Terri. Now more than ever do we need to seek God’s truth and comfort from His word. Thanks for this inspiring call to action, my friend!

  6. My favorite “stay focused” verse is Hebrews 12:1-3 – let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
    thanks for a reminder!

  7. Thanks so much Terri, for the reminder that we need to stay focused on the things that are eternal. There are so many issues clamoring for our attention. And so many of them are important and need our attention – family, church, others, ect but in all these we must still focus on the eternal. I struggle with this too !!! And the world is growing darker but it just lets our light burn stronger. Blessings.

  8. I was just reading Beth Willis’ blog about righteousness correlating to straightness and I realized that staying focused on Jesus helps me tremendously to follow His straight path.
