SOME DAYS ARE DIAMONDS

My husband asked me to check on the pigs the other morning as he wanted to get on with sowing our wheat and oat crop so that he could get it finished before the rain was due.

I trotted off down the paddock and the pigs were all where they were meant to be and the sow due to have piglets hadn’t so all was well in their piggy world.

On my walk back the to the paddock to see my husband I was just filled with joy. It was a diamond type of day.

You know the song :

Some days are diamonds, some days are stone

Well this was definitely a diamond day.

The sun was shining, there was a cold breeze but it didn’t cool my joy. You know the type of day, when things start out good and everyone is happy.

Our 9 year old daughter had gotten out of bed and done her school work and practiced her piano before breakfast, and she was happy. She even offered me breakfast in bed, but I don’t like crumbs in the bed so said no thank you :-).

What a day to be alive, what a beautiful sunny diamond type of day. On these days I feel so blessed and just burst with this. I catg inside.

Not all days are like diamonds, sometimes we can have quite stony types of days, but  the diamond days so make up for the stony and of course there are plenty of scriptures that encourage us to give thanks even on the rough days.

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Psalm 107:1 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever

This one is particularly good…

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

  1. I can just hear John Denver singing this song. Hearing it spoken of reminds me of my dear Mom. She loved that song. Bless her heart, it seemed she had more stone days than diamond days. But, she leaned hard on God, and He saw her through for 84 years, then took her home with Him to glory, where she waits for me now. I miss her so much. So thankful you had a diamond day, sweet friend! Much love to you. 🙂

    1. I am so glad that this post reminded you of your Mum. What a wonderful example and blessing she must have been. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. Much love to you too. xxxx

  2. You are right Terri, some days are really diamonds!
In every thing we should simply lift our hands in thanks to God as He alone will see us through.
Many Blessings Terri and do enjoy the new month.

  3. Great post! I love the diamond days, but thank GOD that HE is with us on and through the stony ones! Thank you for sharing! Infinite blessings to you, Love! 🙂

  4. And remembering the diamond days gives us strength for the stony ones. He is faithful and good no matter the day as He reminds us of the grace and joy in diamond days. Beautiful!

  5. You are my neighbor at Spiritual Sundays. Yes, today was a diamond day for me as well. No piglets, but we did pick our first zucchini squash. I looked up at the blue sky and noticed a few white clouds. Later that evening there was thunder and lightening and rain. Where did all that come from? We certainly needed it, but it was a surprise. A sister church had a prayer meeting and had asked the Lord for a sign that they were all in unity. Some one came in and said, “There is a double rainbow outside, come and look.” The Pastor said, that is our sign.

    1. Hey there Hazel, I think picking zucchini squash is pretty special and probably less hassle than piglets :-). Amazing how rain can just come out of nowhere and such a blessing when it does. We saw a rainbow the other day and it was a complete one and I just love being able to share about God’s promises with our younger two when we see one. Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. Have a great weekend. Blessings
