Hi everyone, welcome back to our Good Morning Mondays Link Up. Where are the weeks going we are almost though July and then the rest of the year will be on the downhill run.
We are mid winter here and it has been really cold and wet. There was even snow close by but unfortunately it didn’t suit us to go and have a play.
I had a bit of cabin fever earlier in the week and it was so wet that we decided to go and visit our son-in-law, daughter and their lovely family for the day. We had a great time as usual and I really enjoyed talking with our daughter. She cooked us a delicious lunch and we were home at a reasonable hour as well. It takes us about 2 hours to get there which isn’t too bad the only issue would be driving at night and hitting a kangaroo which can be pretty thick through that way.

The rest of the week was school and piano practice, exams are in 2 weeks now and we have some scales to get right yet. I think the children are pretty amazing with how they can play all that they do but the scales can be a hard drag.
My husband has been continuing with his father’s course and the men involved are really going great and enjoying it. There is quite a bit of homework but they are all putting in, which makes it all the more enjoyable for my husband.
Unfortunately my husband has come down with a bad head cold and he has spent a couple days inside trying to get over it, our no 2 son isn’t too well either but that seems par for the course during winter.
Our no 1 son is going really well where he is working and will be home for a few months at the end of September. We are all looking forward to this and will value that time together. We are having some really deep and encouraging phone conversations at the moment and we are in awe of how he is maturing.
Up where he is living they all wear cowboy boots and our no 2 daughter was really keen to get some and I managed to locate some really cheap on ebay. To say she was thrilled was an understatement and she wore them around the house for a day or so. They were brand new vintage boots and look just lovely, now her brother wants some so we will have to go on the look out again.
We haven’t managed to get the fruit trees in yet, that’s a job for this coming week, when the weather was good my husband wasn’t. It is just so wet out there at the moment you should really only go out there wearing waders.
We have been talking about doing another butchering session as we are almost half way through our meat. We have about 5 pigs that are ready and I think that we will probably put them into sausages again. Sausages are great on the bbq for summer and are so easy to team with a salad and baked potato.
We might wait another few weeks before we do them though due to the wet weather. August can be really wet here too so maybe in September.
Okay onto our link up…

Monday of Many Blessings Link Up #21 by Our Home of Many Blessings
Thank you everyone for linking up, I hope you enjoyed looking around and I appreciate it that you take the time to stop by.
I have been studying prayer with my friend and doing this while reading Fervent. Priscilla Shirer is talking about prayer being strategic and specific and I guess that is what I have been thinking on at the moment.
We also need to realise who the battle is against, who the real enemy is and that isn’t our family or friends or people around us.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Sometimes it is so hard to really recognize who the enemy is, when are lives are so full and busy, I need to reminded so often.
Monday we have a funeral of an old friend to attend, if you remember I wrote a post ages ago about present day mothers well this the lady it was written about.
The rest of the week will be at home, we have an extra music lesson on Thursday night for our daughter and my husband has his father’s course.
Just a reminder about our new monthly link up…This last month’s topic was WORSHIP and what that meant to you and how you live it.
Our new link up for Wednesday Wisdom Searching will commence on the 20th July, and this months topic will be PRAYER.
Also remember you don’t have to link up, but I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section, so stop over if you get the time.
Have a blessed week my friends and may God lead and guide you in your everyday life.
Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”
Blessings to you all xxxx

Thank you for the feature today.
I read Mrs T story how wonderful.
Hmm pretty tough, heh? I think we have it easier now😉
Have an awesome week
Hey there Ifeoma, how are you??? Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment and the feature was definitely my pleasure. Yes we really have it much easier but Mrs T,was in no way bitter about all the hard work, I guess that’s why she lived so long. Have a blessed week. xxxx
lovely party! Great jump start to the week 🙂
Hi Millie, love your crochet, thanks for sharing, blessings
While it is cold there it is extremely hot here, and though I don’t have a garden like yours I’m sharing my mini garden conservatory this week. A fun DIY. Thank you for hosting my friend and blessings to you and your family.
Patti
Hey there Patti, I had a look at your mini conservatory and I thought it was great, and looks lovely in your garden. Thanks for stopping by and linking up and for your lovely words. Blessings to you and yours this week.
I remember how boring I thought the scales were when I used to take piano practice. But alas, they are useful. It’s good that you insist on their practice as well. Hope your husband feels better soon as well as # 2 son. Thanks for sharing the Wednesday topic on prayer. I hope to link up again this month.
Hi Lisa, thanks for your thoughts on scales, and you are right they are useful, I just don’t think our children see that right now, but I’m sure they will as they grow up. Thank you for being so supportive and encouraging. Blessings to you.
It has also generally been very cold and wet here, despite it being summer for us! Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be 25 degrees C yesterday- I know this would be cool for you during summer, but at my limit here, especially during pregnancy! Hope your husband is feeling better 🙂
Hey Gwen, I’m so pleased that your pregnancy is going well and I hope that you get through the summer and it’s not too hot for you. My husband is feeling better but I came down with a cold earlier in the week, just seems to be the way in winter. Enjoy the warmth and blessings to you and yours.
I love your story about the deal on the cowboy boots! How fun! Praying for healing from the colds and that it doesn’t spread in the rest of the family.
Hey there Elizabeth, so lovely you stopped by again. Thanks for your prayers, much appreciated. Blessings to you this week.
