WELCOME BACK
to our
GOOD MORNING MONDAYS LINK UP
Hi everyone, welcome back to our Good Morning Mondays Link Up.
It’s good to be back again and I must admit that it’s been a very slow week for me. After all our partying and visitors we are all a bit tired, but life goes on and were trying to find routine again.
My husband has been co-running a Father’s courses the past few weeks and he’s started up another one this week. It isn’t ideal for him to be out two nights a week but the impact this course has on all the men is far more beneficial. We just have to make sure that we take time with each other and talk.
Our no 1 son is home at the moment after cutting his hand shearing on Monday. He’s got a few stitches and it all bandaged up but it’s on the mend and there is no sign of infection which is a blessing. It’s been nice to have him around, especially with my husband out a bit.
The children have been working on their school and piano practice and it’s only about 13 weeks until the first Eisteddfod. It’s mind blowing how quickly this year is going and it’s almost school holidays and Easter. I don’t think we’ll be holidaying too much this time and we might just keep on schooling until the next big event.
The garden is going good although I am fighting a battle with chickens digging stuff up. We are in the process of netting the beds because no sooner do I plant seedlings and the chickens scratch them about. The weather is still warm and we are hoping that the tomatoes will ripen before the weather runs out. We are planning next spring’s garden already and working out strategies to get our vegetables in earlier than this last year. The raised beds will be an added bonus in this process as they don’t get waterlogged but we’re still working on keeping frosts off those beds so that the plants can survive.
We had our second meeting of our book club this week and the ladies are all excited by Fervent. It’s getting our focus off ourselves and others and onto fighting against the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy. He wants to steal our joy, and destroy our marriages and family and we’re not going to allow him to do this to us. It’s so nice to come together with like minded friends to discuss our prayer strategies.
This next fortnight we are onto strategy 2 and I’m looking forward to discussing this with the ladies.
On Sunday we were invited out by friends for lunch and that was just wonderful. This young couple and their children are such a blessing and we enjoyed ourselves very much.
Okay onto our link up…
Our top three this week were… 5 Self-Care Tips for When You Are Feeling Depressed by Eclectic Evelyn
Biblical Minimalism by Homespun Devotions
Effortless Apple Dip… by Making a House a Home
Thank you everyone for stopping by and linking up. I hope you were blessed by your visit.
Next weekend our no 2 daughter has been asked to do a stall at a fundraising market for our local hospital. She’s been busy making earrings and key rings and other items and that’s what she’ll be busy with this week. It’s called business studies, and she’s even getting business cards. We really like to develop an entrepreneurial gifting with our children and always encourage them with any business ideas. Our no 2 daughter has been making cards for the mission table at church and the jewellery is just another thing she enjoys doing. I might put a couple things on the table as well but we’ll see how the week pans out for that.
The children have singing lessons this week and the usual Bible class but that’s about all the outings for me during the week. I’m hoping to keep the home fires burning or the house clean instead of being out too much.
I want to encourage you all to try and find the book Fervent and maybe find another friend or two to read it together and encourage each other.
We are in a battle, hands down a big battle, for our lives and our families. I’ve been encouraged to pray more and more for direct needs and issues in our lives, and that’s how we come to Jesus, first in repentance and thanksgiving and then we can bring our petitions to Him. He never lets us down.
Have a great week!!!
Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”
Blessings my friends xxxx
You will find me linked up at some of these great blogs.
Goodness, you are busy!
And you’re making me want to unearth my copy of Fervent and re-read it. So glad that your study is going well, and that the kids are being so productive with their time. Hope you find a way to keep those hens out of your garden!
We just got a new eighteen inches of snow, so even though I am perusing a seed catalog and making my plans, our garden is still just a twinkle in my eye.
Hey there Michele, 18 inches of snow sounds exciting to me, but it’s probably getting boring for you. I’m still working on the hens and now the cows as well so that is challenging. Our group is still enjoying Fervent and it’s exciting seeing them take hold of the strategic prayer strategy. Blessings to you.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Fervent. I have a book on prayer that I started not too long ago called With the Master on Our Knees by Susan Heck. It’s another excellent one. Hope you have a great week and succeed in keeping the chickens out of your garden. 🙂
Hi Donna, that sounds like a good book too, I might have a look at it for our next book. Fervent is going really well and it’s exciting to see the ladies taking it on board. I haven’t succeeded with the chickens yet but we’re still working on that. Bless you.
