WELCOME BACK
to our
GOOD MORNING MONDAYS LINK UP
Hi everyone, welcome back to our Good Morning Mondays Link Up.
I apologise deeply for not being around last week and putting up the link up but I had a huge week and weekend.
I turned 50 on the 20th and my wonderful family took me on a lovely journey. I had an idea something was in the pipeline weeks ago but didn’t really know but through a series of events it culminated in a surprise party .
I was given a surprise birthday tea in town on my actual birthday and our son-in-law, daughter and their family came down. We had a delicious chinese meal and a fantastic cake, and a great time together. So this put me off the thought that there would be anything else happening.

Then life went back to normal until the Friday morning when my husband said “come on, let’s go for a coffee”. That was the start of the journey that finished (sort of) on Saturday night.
My amazing husband took me to Port Fairy for breakfast then on to Warrnambool where we went shopping and looked around until we could get into a lovely B&B for the night. We dined at a really nice restaurant (I had salmon) and then came back and watched a movie. It was very restful. I must admit I was a bit grumpy in the morning because I wasn’t dressed quite right and I didn’t have any make up on as I didn’t realise we weren’t coming home, but I got over myself eventually.
The next morning we brunched before going to see a movie at the cinema. We also did a bit of ocean gazing which is always nice.
After the movie we traveled very slowly to Hamilton to our church hall for a party. I sort of knew when we headed that way that something was happening and I walked into the hall which was full of family and friends. Our daughters and friends had done a wonderful job of organising and cooking a delicious meal and setting everything up. I got another birthday cake and some very honouring speeches.
Our no 2 son was MC for the night and he did a great job and kept everything moving along nicely. We had friends visit from NSW and they stayed with us after the party and it was so nice to catch up with them all. Some of these friends left Sunday and some stayed until Tuesday and then came back again on Thursday and left this morning to head home.
It’s been a full on time and I’m tired but I am also so grateful to my wonderful family for all that they did for me, for making me feel special and for the effort that our friends went to to spend time with me on this occasion. So for those of you reading this a big kiss and hug to you all.
So apart from all that excitement it’s been life as usual :-), we haven’t done much music practice and school work but the children have helped cater for a party and spent time with some good friends.
The vegetables are coming along well and we’ve picked our first tomatoes this last week, not too many but enough to know that they haven’t failed. The cucumbers and zucchini keep on coming too and so do the capsicums.
These home grown tomatoes taste so delicious and strong, so different to bought ones.
We also harvested a row of potatoes this week and have them bagged and out the front for sale. They look good and the smaller ones are excellent roasted in the oven. We’ve been enjoying them and it’s great not having to buy any.
I won’t do a top three this week but I’ll get back to that next week. I thank all of you who stopped by last week and I again apologise for not being here.
This week will hopefully be quieter but I’m not sure about that. My friend who I normally meet with is still away but will hopefully be back in a week or two. We’ve got singing lessons and our 2nd book club meeting. For the first get together we watched War Room and the movie has really impacted the ladies and it’s so nice to see them so excited about the book. This week we will be discussing the first prayer strategy and I’m excited about that.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the usual and I think we are going to the Port Fairy Folk Festival on Saturday afternoon to hand out bibles again.
Well that’s it my friends, after a fun filled, full on two weeks it will be nice to get back to normal and settle the children back into their routines.
Our no 2 daughter and myself will be doing a market in a couple of weeks so she’ll be busy making jewellery and I’ve got a few things planned as well, so that’s our free time gone, but that’s fun stuff.
My thoughts have been focused on Jesus being my best friend and being there all the time. He never leaves us and I’m trying to be intentional in thinking that and remembering that.
This post comes to you hoping that you are well. Keep on keeping on my friends…
Have a great week!!!
Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”
