Hello all, how are you going??

It’s been a cold week here and we even had some rain which has made the ground nice and wet and boggy.

My husband has been working really hard so he took Tuesday off and we went to town and had breakfast and did some op-shopping. The children really love it when he comes with us and he usually finds them something they like.

He’s been busy trying to get some hay for the new vegetable garden and he managed to get in 5 trailer loads which equaled 10 big squares. Here’s the hay laid out in rows which will he will run a bed former over, once it’s settled down a bit. All our big crops eg: tomatoes, corn, etc will be planted in these beds this coming spring. He wants to do another 5 loads and even more. There is a lot of hay around that is no good for stock feed so we are really blessed to be able to use it in the garden.

Some of the pigs have been busy digging up last year’s vegetable garden area and they are doing a fantastic job, and the little piglets are so cute.As I said it has been so cold this week and with my husband home for lunch one day I made some chicken soup from one of the roosters we butchered last weekend. The flavour was really lovely and I made some cheesy scrolls to go with it.
I found some great books from Answers in Genesis for our no 2 son. He got one on dinosaurs and one on geology. He was so excited when they arrived and it’s so nice to know that he is reading the truth about all these things and not the world’s million of years theology.Saturday we did some gardening and sorting some pigs out and then in the afternoon we had a lady who knows heaps about orchards and permaculture stop in to see how everything was going. You are never too old to learn. Our no 2 daughter has gotten quite keen on grafting and the fruit tree side of our operation so she was all ears during her visit.

Sunday was church and a rest in the afternoon, to be ready for the new week.

Okay, onto our link up…

Our top three this week were… Introducing…..Baby Eli!!!! All Glory to God!!! by Homespun Devotions Red Velvet Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting by Marilyns Treats Living the Chinese Dream by Living Our Days

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who stopped by and linked up. I hope you enjoyed your visit.

I have a prayer request: Please pray for our friends little boy Jotham. I have mentioned him before, requesting prayer and he is still having some health issues. At the moment he is in hospital with Pneumonia and he has also been struggling with Infantile Spasms. Please pray for the doctors to have wisdom and for the spasms to stop and for his health to be restored.  Please also pray for his parents and brothers and sister that they may be at peace with all that is happening. Thank you all.

This coming week is much the same as the last :-), school, music and work. At the moment we are babysitting three of our grandchildren later in the week for a couple of nights, so that should be fun.

I’ve finished knitting a couple little cardigans for our newest granddaughter and now I’m onto a little hat. I’ll post pics next week when it has been gifted. Then I might start on a vest for our no 2 son as I have some spare wool that would be nice used that way.

What have you been up to? What is your weather like?

Thank you all for your support and may God bless you all.

Keep on keeping on my friends…

Have a great week!!!

Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”

Blessings my friends xxxx

  1. It’s always a blessing to know that lots of friendly eyes were reading my post last week! Thanks for all you do here — I love how your kids have such diverse interests! That’s one of the great things about country living and homeschooling.

    Blessed week to you!

    1. Hi there Michele, thank you so much for taking the time each week to link up and support me with your lovely and encouraging words. It is such a pleasure to hear from you each week. We really love country living and homeschooling, although at times it isn’t easy, we know it is what God wants us to do. Have a great weekend and may you be blessed.

  2. Your chicken soup looks lovely! 🙂 Do you plow in the hay or plant through it?

We were on a trip week before last and then had company almost as soon as we got home, followed by a week that was a bit busier than usual for me, so I’m in recovery mode right now. I still have a bit of laundry left from our traveling and also just need to spend some down time with quiet restful things I enjoy so that I can feel refreshed from all the extra activity. 🙂 I’m so thankful for the extra strength the Lord gave me to get through all this, though. I’m not all that strong health-wise.

Our weather is very hot right now, although it could be worse. It is exhausting, though. We’ve had a little rain which is a huge blessing. We’re praying for more. 🙂

    1. Hey there Mary, it sounds like you had a busy week and I’m glad that the Lord sustained you to get through it all. I find a couple busy days and I need a bit of a rest. Thank you for your encouraging words about my soup, it was very nice and I’ve even got some in the freezer for my husbands lunches this coming week. It is very cold here at the moment and a bit of warmer weather would be nice but not too hot. I agree, it is exhausting when it is hot and that rain is so nice to freshen everything up. Have a great weekend and I pray you get the rain you need. Blessings

      1. We did have more rain! Praise the Lord! 🙂 Some were light showers, but today we had a heavy downpour. My dad’s garden needed the nitrogen rich rain from the lightening so much. 🙂

  3. Oh my, while it’s COLD where you are we are in the midst of our hottest and most humid weather here. I wish we could find a balance in between 🙂 Thank you for taking the time to host this party and God bless you and your family.

    1. Hey there Patti, hot weather sounds a bit exhausting, warm weather now would be nice though. I agree it’s either too much or not enough, but then I think we are never content. Farmers are the worse when it comes to complaining about the weather. Thank you for taking the time to link up each week and encourage me. Have a great weekend and blessings to your family also.

  4. My son-in-law has a landscaping business, so seeing all your hay laid out in rows made me think of all the hard workers who labor every day in the sun, during hot weather and cold weather. Praying for your big crops to flourish through your hard work and God’s grace!

    1. Hi Lisa, your son-in-law must be a hard worker, landscaping is a manual job and would be hard in all weather. Thank you also for your prayers about our crops they are appreciated. God has really blessed us with the raised beds and the orchard this year and we are looking forward to sharing our harvest with others. Have a great weekend. Blessings.

  5. Thank you for the feature. Thank you for allowing me to share my links with all your great followers! I hope you can join me at #Overthemoon on Sunday, #WonderfulWednesday and #ThursdayFavoriteThings!
