This is a post to all the mothers out there training their young girls. I want you to know that I appreciate every one of you.

Your job is so important and integral to your daughters future. In your training you are teaching her to be a wife and mother and a keeper of the home.

Titus 2:3-5 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

This is a noble task and one not to be laughed at and if you train her correctly and with diligence both of you will be rewarded in your relationship.

Proverbs 22: 6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Not only will your training benefit her future husband and family but it will benefit younger girls around her.

My good friend has an eleven year old daughter who is just a beautiful young lady. Her mother (my friend) has been training her to help around the home and she is a wonderful example of her mothers training.

Our No 2 daughter who is a couple of years younger spent the day with this young lady and I am amazed and blessed by the way our daughter has been since spending time with her.

Her attitude had rubbed off onto our daughter in such a wonderful way. What an example she has been, she helps her mother without complaint and showed such a willingness that just blessed me.  This young lady wouldn’t even know that she is helping or guiding our daughter but she is.

I know that sometimes it doesn’t seem that we are getting anywhere in our training and we just might seem to be treading water, but be encouraged that there is a difference being made in the lives of our girls and those they come in contact with.

    1. Thank you Amy for your kind and encouraging comment. Raising our boys to be men is a very important parental duty and you are right you are training your son to be someones husband. Blessings to you and your family as you train and teach.

  2. Thanks for the encouragement!! I have two little girls. They are darling…but it can be trying. So this was a wonderful reminder of the important work it is to raise our children.

I need to remember to pray for guidance!!

    1. Thank you Emily for stopping by and sharing, I’m with you with the need to pray for guidance, if only we all started our day out with this prayer. Blessings to you and your family.

  3. We usually think of “Titus 2” women as older (much older), but this is a great reminder that these kind of women can be of any age…it’s the older mentoring the younger that’s important to remember. What a wonderful find you’ve found!

    1. What wonderful news Nathana, and what a blessing, congratulations, I hope and pray the birth goes well. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts with us. Blessings

  4. What a beautiful thing for our daughters and sons to be trained up in the way they should go and leave a trail without even knowing it. I love this post, it’s a wonderful reminder that our efforts are not in vain. Thank you! 🙂

    1. Thanks Celi for your lovely comment, I like the bit about them leaving a trail and not even knowing it. this is oh so true and such a blessing to others. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings

  5. So important, and sadly lacking in our world today. But prayers changes things! and if we know a young mother praying for her in the training of her children will make a difference! Great post.

    1. Oh yes, you are so right June, we should lift mothers up in prayer for all they need to do and all the training required. This really helps knowing that there is someone who cares enough for you to pray. Thank you for your comment. Blessings

  6. I love that Titus passage. When I was a ‘teen’ I treasured the special relationships I had with the older ladies at my church. I see this in my eldest daughter’s life, too. The older ladies at our church love her and speak life & truth into her heart.
This passage also encourages me, as a mother, to train my daughters well – to train them to listen to His voice and calling on their lives, whatever that may be.

  7. How I miss the mothering days! It is so important to guide our daughters in a sweet, kind and helpful spirit. I now have the honor of watching my daughter repeat the process with her own daughter. It’s important for us to guide their friendships.

  8. Hi Terri! Thank you for linking up at #GiveMeGrace this week! Your post is timely and good medicine for my mama soul. I am mama of 5 and 2 are girls (12 and 7years old). I’m in the middle of the tween years with my older girl and pray to train her well. It isn’t easy but I’m encouraged.

    1. Thank you so much Lisha for your comment and for the link up. It is hard training our children but we are not alone in this journey, God is with us and helps us and picks us up when we fall, He forgives us and encourages us. What a blessing. Thank you for stopping by. Blessings to you and your family.

  10. What a good reminder! I know my own mom was certainly important in my own development as a woman of faith. She set a very good example for me, and I hope to set the same example for our own girl.
Thanks for sharing with Grace and Truth this week!
    Jen 🙂
