GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #36

Hi there all and welcome back to another Good Morning Mondays.

What a week it has been and I hope and pray that you all experienced God’s blessings in your life.

We had a quiet start to the week which was good. We had our Revelation Study on Tuesday night and that continues to be so very interesting.

Thursday our children attended another Eisteddfod, this time in Warrnambool. We had such a great time and were able to catch up with some of our friends there.

The children played really well and No 2 daughter got 2 first placings and a Honourable Mention, No 2 son got 1 first and 1 third placing. Their sister and her husband and their children managed to come this time which was wonderful and quite an effort considering the 3 hour drive for them.

Our children also received an Encouragement Award each which goes towards their music tuition. This was such a blessing as we were behind with their fees this year.

Here they are at the piano they performed on.

After the Eisteddfod we went and visited with friends of ours who homeschool as well, some of their children also competed in the Eisteddfod, so we saw them there as well.

We have known this family for a long time and it is wonderful to see how the older children have grown and all the little ones as well. They have 10 children so with ours and our daughters family it sure was a house full at tea time.

Of course we stayed late because we were having such a good time and I only got to bed at 3 am because I kept talking to our daughter and son-in-law once we got home.

Our daughters family stayed on Friday as well and the men went cutting fire wood and our daughter and I took the children to their music lessons (their teacher was really pleased with them) and then tried to stay awake all day 🙂

Saturday was a catch up day and we slept in and did some jobs around the place and some of our other friends stopped in around afternoon tea time for a cuppa, which was lovely, they even brought afternoon tea.

It is such a blessing to have like minded Christian friends and we are blessed to call both of these families good friends.

We sold another 4 piglets which is wonderful and now we only have 4 little ones left

And now because we had our grandchildren here I have to share some photos. There was lots of kissing and cuddling with them.

These couple of days were pretty full on but wonderful and will live as memories for quite a while.

Now onto our link up.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to link up this past week.  I have decided that if I am behind the eight ball with reading I will read at least one post that you have linked up, so that is why I haven’t commented on them all, and I did have some issues with the computer as well which meant that some comments I left didn’t actually work.

Please keep linking up as I enjoy reading the posts that you all share and feel so blessed with the community of friends I have here. You are all such a blessing.

Our top three posts this week were…

Wow what a link up, full of wisdom and good ideas. Thanks to you all.

This coming week is a bit quieter here (yay) not that I don’t love having family around, that is always great.

We are home most of the week, and are having a sewing afternoon on Thursday. We haven’t had one for a couple of weeks due to other activities, so it will be wonderful to spend the afternoon together.

That same night my husband has a church meeting so I might go in and visit with Mrs H and see how she is going and coping with all that is happening with her family.

Friday the children have music lessons (changed due to school holidays) so we get to stay home on Saturday and have 3 weeks before their next lesson and then only 2 weeks after that until their exams.

I still have one more sleep suit to make for our friends and I am definitely hoping to finish that early this week.

School of course is a priority and I am starting on a new schedule that I made up, so hopefully that will keep me on line.

We bought some strawberry plants so I want to plant them in the aquaponics along with some carrot seeds and I need to start pruning our roses.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and I am looking forward to hearing how you are all going and what is happening in your lives.

Love to you all xxxxx

WHEN PEOPLE HURT US…

Why did they do that?  Why did they say that? How can people be so hurtful?

These are questions that I have asked many times over, usually the answer is I don’t know why.

What do you do when people say things or do things that upset you? How do you handle the situation?

There are a few things we should do and a few things we shouldn’t.

  • We shouldn’t retaliate or hit back;
  • We shouldn’t curse them or be angry.

Sometimes there is just no answer as to why people are the way they are.  Retaliating isn’t the way to go and we are trying to teach our children to not hit back when it happens to them, by showing them how we handle these situations.

  • We should forgive them;
  • We should bless them;
  • We should pray for them.

Our family has a saying: build a bridge and get over it, but can we really get over it without forgiveness.  Another thing we can do is to ask God to bless those who hurt us.

My husband heard the saying the other day – “being able to forgive mightn’t be able to help yesterday but will bless you tomorrow”.

We can never go back but we can always move forward with God and his help.  Forgiving others will enable us to go on and actually release us to prayer for them.

Luke 6:28-29 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you, To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold you tunic either.

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.

bible

Do you find yourself walking around the house having conversations in your head with people who have upset you?  I find myself doing this quite often – saying to those who have hurt me what I really wanted to say to their face.  Then the Holy Spirit convicts me and I stop myself and ask for forgiveness and ask God to bless them and their family. This act really helps me stop thinking about it and helps me turn my feelings of frustration and anger to love, prayer and forgiveness.

So when people hurt you in either word or deed, ask God to help you turn the other cheek and forgive them and then ask God to bless them.
