I cooked some beef yesterday in my slow cooker and wanted to do something different so we decided to use it in some rice paper rolls for tea tonight.
These are really delicious and we enjoy them almost as much as sushi rolls.
- Rice paper wrappers
- Roast Beef
- Shredded lettuce
- BBQ sauce
- Rice (not pictured)
We used sushi rice instead of noodles in these as we find noodles make them very hard to roll up where as the rice is slightly easier and stays together better.
We put the rice paper sheets into water to soften them, then placed them onto the bench. We added a spoonful of rice then some shredded beef and some BBQ sauce and lettuce.
Then we roll them up and place them seam side down on the tray. You need to roll them quite tightly so they hold together.
We leave them sit for a few minutes before eating and they sort of stick together better.
We all enjoyed them for tea, they were yummy!!
Blessings…
These look great… and the sushi ones do not sound good to me, but I am glad you enjoy them. 🙂
Thanks for that. Sushi here is not raw fish, I think maybe you call them californian rolls?? We put egg, or carrot or cucumber or cooked meat in ours?? Thanks for stopping by. Blessings
I have half a pack of rice paper wrappers in the pantry I need to do something with. Thanks for the inspiration.
Found you on Hump Day Happenings.
My pleasure Audrey, Blessings to you.
Yummy! Those look so good, and not too hard to make!
