I was sitting in church this morning and I am ashamed to admit that I didn’t really want to be there.
I was extremely tired as I can image all our family members were. It wasn’t because we had been partying or anything like that, we had spent the last two days processing 9 pigs and 1 cow for our freezers.
So I was sitting there thinking that I would rather be at home in bed and I was also a bit miffed at some things that have been happening in our church.
As I was sitting there stewing over my not wanting to be there and my attitude and all of a sudden I thought, what am I thinking.
Church and worship isn’t about me, or how tired I am or how peeved I am at people. Church and worship is about Jesus and giving our hearts to Him.
It is all about JESUS. Full stop, no commas, just plain about JESUS.
Boy did I need to get over myself and my attitudes.
Jesus is what it is all about, not the petty little things or the big things that annoy us.
IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS
Revelation 4:8-11 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
(and yes I did get over my attitude)
Blessings
You will find me linked up at some of these great blogs.
It IS all about Jesus, Lord and Savior! Why do we constantly try to make it “all about us”?!?
Thank you Debra for your comment and you are so right. I suppose it is our sinful selves. Blessings
Bless your dear heart! I can surely relate to what you were feeling and going through. We all go through those places, and then the gentle Spirit of God reminds us that it is not about us. So thankful He comforted and blessed you today. 🙂
Dear Cheryl, what a blessings for the conviction of the Holy Spirit, where would we be without it. Thanks for stopping by and encouraging me. Blessings xxx
I live how open and honest you are in sharing your life…we’re all right there with you…but you’ve got it so right…it’s all about Jesus…truly all us grace…many blessings to you ❤️
Thanks Beth, I think if we don’t show the real side of ourselves then we aren’t going to learn anything from each other. Thank you so much for your encouraging comment and for stopping by. Blessings
Thanks for sharing your moment of weakness 🙂 and, wow! 9 pigs!
Thanks Kelly. I think when we share about our failings we grow and learn so much more and yes 9 pigs was a bit amazing but with everyone helping it went well. Thanks for hosting and for stopping by. Blessings
I agree….but I also disagree…respectfully and with kindness. Belief and walking the walk is about Jesus and nothing but Jesus. Church, to me, is about sharing the love of Jesus, and worshiping together, and fellowship.
I accept your disagreement and I totally understand what you are saying. My thought was that the time of worship (together) is about us worshiping Jesus, during this time, there is fellowship of the saints. Thank you so much for your comment, I appreciate you stopping by and it is always good to be challenged in our thinking. Blessings
So true, Terri! You are a great example for us on the need to refocus our eyes on the Lord and give to Him throughout any trying day. That’s when we get back more than we ever expected, because He is such a gracious God. Not that this should be why we do it! But it sure is a lovely blessing that God provides every time we trust and praise Him!
You are so right Beth, what a wonderful gracious God we serve, not because we get but because He loves us. Thanks for your comment and for hosting and for stopping by. Blessings to you this weekend.
Thanks so much for linking up at Mondays @ Soul Survival. Pinned on my Mondays … board! Blessings!

Amen! I think we all feel that way at times.
Thank you so much Jamie for your encouraging comment. Blessings
Hi Terri,
You are so right! It is so easy to lose sight of what our worship is all about! Jesus!
I’m visiting as your neighbor fro #TheWeekendBrew 🙂
Blessings and smiles,
Lori
Thank you so much Lori for visiting and for your lovely comment. Have a great weekend. Blessings
I’ve been there too. It’s a pretty uncomfortable place to sit — all that resentment and condemnation making me wiggle like a restless kid. But then, like you, I grab myself by the scruff of the neck and remember that it’s not about me! Thank you for your honest reflection here!
Thank you Michele for sharing your heart with us. It is nice to know that I am not alone and I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit convicts us. I believe with honesty comes growth and friendship. Have a great weekend. Blessings
As I began to read your post, I was thinking in my head, “Oh my! I was right there with you sister!”
I too was tired after just returning from a long vacation the day before and would have preferred to just “sleep-in”. As I was sitting at church during the Praise set I was thinking the same thing you were. This is not about Karen and her desires, this is about Jesus and a sacrifice of Worship to the Lord.
And, I was so glad I went! Because when we come with a Spirit of sacrifice, He ALWAYS ministers to our hearts with a lesson that we surely would have lost a blessing from had we slept in…
Thanks for sharing with transparency!
Thank you Karen also for sharing with transparency. It is nice to know we are not alone in our struggles. Thank you for the encouraging comment and I hope you have a great weekend. Blessings
Leave it to Jesus to bring our focus back exactly where it should be. He is constantly pursuing us and reminding us of His sovereignty. Blessings!
Yes you are right Mary, thank you for stopping by. Blessings

Amen! you rebuked the devil with positive thoughts
