Are you a cup half full or a cup half empty type of person. I hope mostly that I am a cup half full or actually a really full cup person, but after reading what I wrote below I am wondering…
The following statements/questions might help you decide. When you are asked the following questions – how do you answer?
My it’s lovely sunny weather isn’t it?
- Yes it is wonderful.
- It’s just too hot for me.
Hasn’t the rain been wonderful?
- Yes it lovely to see it soaking into the garden and refreshing the ground.
- What, it’s just too wet now, there is just too much mud everywhere.
You have such wonderfully behaved children, what a blessing they must be?
- Yes they are such a God given blessing – thank you.
- Yes they are a blessing, but they can be so naughty and disobedient.
What way do you answer? I just realised that I don’t always answer with a cup full attitude.
I am adding a new goal to my list for 2015. I am going to endeavour to embrace each moment in a positive cup full type of way not in a negative cup empty attitude.
I am going to try to turn my eyes to the positives in my life and shun the negatives.
God has given us a cup full of love and blessings and we should grasp hold of all that that entails.
Psalm 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

That’s good! I always thought I was pretty positive, but now thanks to your questions I am realizing that I can actually be quite negative! I guess just because you’re smiling, doesn’t mean you are actually being positive. Some good points to consider as I go through my week.
So did I Miranda but it sure opened my eyes. thanks for your comment, all the best with being positive. Blessings
🙂 This is good practice. I’ve been resolving lately to try and respond the way you’ve described. Thanks for the post!
Thanks Kira, have a great week. Blessings
This is a good reminder. Negative attitude creeps in on me so easily sometimes. Always need to remember this!

Negativity seems to seep in more than positivity!! I wonder why that is, maybe our old Adam surfacing. We will endeavour to do this together, praying for you and me. Blessings and thanks for stopping by.
Wow, great food for thought and very encouraging! Especially the children’s behavior part speaks to me. Though my toddler is a ball full of attitude lately, I need to remember what a blessing from the Lord he truly is and speak God’s truth – even in the hard times and frustrating situations!
Thank you for sharing this!
It is definitely difficult when our children are showing some attitudes that aren’t good but we need to remember the blessing that they are. This post really opened my eyes as well to my own attitude, seems we all have the same struggles. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your heart. Blessings
I consider myself a cup half full type of person…but I know the cup half empty also comes through more often than I would like. Great reminder!
Thanks Emily, I am exactly the same but when I wrote this it really convicted me. Have a great day. Blessings
I don’t usually think of those question and answers that way! I guess if I want to think of myself as positive, I must be in all (or most) situations!
I think it’s that way with all of us Sarah, as I was writing the post I all of a sudden thought oohh I’m not that positive myself, it was a real eye opener. Thanks for your comment. Blessings
What a good reminder! So often we have complaints about everything instead of basking in the goodness of what God has given us.
Thanks Heather for your comment, it definitely was a good reminder for me. Blessings
It is such a good way to show others that we feel blessed. 🙂
Thanks Joy for your comment, blessings.
Great post! Thank you for the inspiration! I wish you had share buttons, so I could post it on my Tweeter account and share it with others too!
Thanks Joanna for your comment. Yes, there are a few things I’m not sure about how to do and share buttons is one of them. When my daughter gets home from her trip I’m going to see if she can help me. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Blessings.
Positivity is good for the soul!
Thanks Jennifer, that is so true. Blessings
Loved this. And it is so true. We so begin to believe that which we say. May we look through the lens of all that He has done for us. Stopping this morning from Recommendation Saturday. Have a blessed weekend!
Thanks Joanne for your lovely, thoughtful comment. Blessings
Thank you! This was really a sweet way to look at it 🙂 I am happy I hopped over from Faith Filled Friday!
Thanks Marisa for your kind comment and for stopping by. Blessings.
