Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever will be.
Refrain:
Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand hath provided;
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Refrain
This hymn has been going around in my head for a couple of days now.
I just think that God’s faithfulness is great, that he cares for us in all seasons of our lives, that He is watching over us at all times.
God blessed our children this past week with Encouragement Awards at the Eisteddfod we attended. These awards are funds to help with their music tuition. This was such a blessings as we have been behind with their music fees this year.
We couldn’t believe it, and we were so excited and thankful. I was sitting there as they were getting ready to announce the awards thinking “Oh Lord it would be wonderful it one of the children won one”, but I didn’t think it would happen. Not because I didn’t think God could do it but because there were so many other children who played so well and were deserving of an award.
So when they both won one, it was wonderful.
As our oldest daughter said God blessed the children for their diligence in practicing and in turn that blessed us as a family.
When everyone had settled down, I had time to think about how blessed we are and how God is faithful to supply all our needs.
Great is His faithfulness
You will find me linked up at some of these great blogs.
Amen!!!
That’s great that the kids got 2 awards that helps with music tuition! They see now that others can also see (and appreciate) how much they work on their skills, and that practice pays off. 🙂
I love that hymn, taken from Lamentations. Here’s a link to history of it–I love reading about how different hymns came about… http://gaither.com/news/%E2%80%9Cgreat-thy-faithfulness%E2%80%9D-story-behind-hymn
((hugs))
Hey Angie, it is so good to hear from you. Thank you for your comment, it was so wonderful and such a blessing to be able to give their music teacher the money last week. She doesn’t seem to mind us paying late but it does bother us. It is amazing how hymns/ tunes can just pop into our heads depending on our moods.
I will have a look at that link up thank you, the hymns mean so much more when we know their origin and why someone puts scripture to music.
Blessings to you and yours and lots of hugs.
Praise the dear Lord for working this out for you all! No one could deserve it more. God is so faithful to supply all of our needs. Praise His wonderful name!
Oh yes Cheryl, Praise the Lord for answering our prayers and filling our needs. I’m not sure that we deserved it but I am truly grateful that he blessed us all. Thanks for your kind comment. Blessings

I love to focus on the words of hymns; so often I think we just sing them at church without appreciating what we/they are saying. The words are often profoundly meaningful and beautiful.
Congratulations on the awards!
Thank you so much Lynn for your comment and I agree we should be thinking about what we are singing and appreciating the words. Blessings and have a great weekend.

“Great Is Thy Faithfulness” is one of my favourite hymns. I had it playing (sung by Cece Winans) in the way to the hospital for my c-section appointment with our first born. I was so nervous and anxious, but that song brought peace to my heart. So, it has a very special place for me.
Oh Aimee, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us. Seems there are a few of us who find this hymn a blessing and brings reminders of God’s love and care for us. Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend. Blessings
