GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #97

Hey there everyone, welcome back to our Good Morning Mondays Link Up.

Right now I’m feeling really tired, it’s Saturday night and I just feel like sitting on the couch and chilling out.  My husband and no 1 son and a friend have just finished butchering 9 pigs and 4 sheep. The cool room is full.img_20161008_1830371

What a blessing this meat will be over the summer. My husband didn’t think that we would get the sheep done but with the help of our friend they had the pigs done by lunch time.

Although I didn’t help with the actual butchering it was full on doing lunch and afternoon tea. Then we had another two lots of friends turn up, one came to pick up some innards to make some interesting dishes – haggis, and something else that you do with the caul, lungs and liver, and another lot of friends to pick up some car parts.

It was a full on afternoon but full of the blessings of friends.

My husband is going to kick over the BBQ very shortly just after he has a quick kip to catch up, then it’s tea and maybe a movie.

What have you been up to this past week???

Our No 1 son arrived home on Monday night and it has been great to catch up with him and all that has been happening in his life. He is such a generous hearted young man and it is a pleasure to have him home and he is always so caring.

We took a quick trip on Tuesday up to our son-in-law and daughters place to pick up a vehicle and so there was time for Grandpa cuddles. It  was great to all be together again and we had a lovely catch up and a really nice meal together.

Grandpa cuddles and tickles

I have tried to get some school done this week  but didn’t quite manage it the way I wanted to, but we still achieved some. We started music lessons again this week so practice was on the agenda.

We needed to go and get some milking machine parts so we all (my husband was working) went down for a drive and a coffee. Here are our two boys together, there is 12 years between them.

20161006_1147511We’ve had some beautiful spring days, but it is still very wet under foot. My husband is hoping that he can get the tractor out in the veggie patch this coming week and start preparing some ground for the coming planting season.20161006_1447261I changed the button on our sons jumper and I’m much happier with it now. It fits so well and it feels very achieving to have finished it. I am onto the last sleeve for my husbands jumper, I had hoped to finish it this week to show you but I will post it up next week.20161004_1101041

Thank you everyone for stopping by and linking up, it is such a blessing to me and I just so enjoy putting this link up each week.

The first half of this coming week will be quiet and hopefully we will achieve some school work. Later in the week we will be cutting up and processing the pigs and sheep that we butchered today.

Our son-in-law, daughter and children will be down to help and it will be a great time. Hopefully there will be plenty of time for fun and games after tea each night.

This coming Sunday my husband has the graduation of his fathers course and we are having a luncheon and family concert.  The graduation will be carried out during our usual  church service and then the families will gather after for  the presentation of certificates, lunch and fun.

Also a reminder about our monthly link up…wisdom search4This month’s topic is on Forgiveness and I hope to hear from you over there.

Also remember you don’t have to link up, but I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section, so stop over if you get the time.

I’m still working on my verse by verse study of Jude but unfortunately I don’t get to it as much as I’d like. Been thinking about God’s refining fire today and what it takes to refine silver, very interesting.

Have a blessed week my friends and may God lead and guide you in your everyday life.

Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”

Blessings to you all xxxx

  1. My goodness! So much butchering! My #3 son managed to get a turkey this week (it’s hunting season in Maine!), and I couldn’t believe how much effort went into that little carcass!

    1. Hey there Michele, it’s always so good to hear from you. Wow a wild turkey, we don’t have those. The only thing we can hunt and eat are rabbits and they taste good, and wouldn’t be as much work as a Turkey. I hope your turkey was good to eat and that you are blessed this week. xxx

  2. Thanks, Terri, for taking time from your very busy week to write up this post.
It’s great to hear how others live in different parts of our great country. It’s also good to have contact with another Christian family.
My life is very different to yours as I live in the outer suburbs of Melbourne but the country is nearby so I can see green fields and trees, which I love as I can spend time with God looking at His glorious creation on my early morning walks.
May God bless you in all that you and your family do.

    Blessings

    Kerrie

    1. Hey there Kerrie, lovely to meet you and welcome to Darling Downs Diaries. It’s nice to meet someone from Australia and especially Victoria. Sounds like you live almost in the country and your walks must be lovely. I agree it is so nice to get to know other Christian families, how many children do you have?? Once again blessings and I hope that we can get to know each other better. Blessings

    1. Hi there Cheryl, how are you going, have you moved yet?? I appreciate you stopping by and encouraging me, you my friend are the blessing. Thanks again and love to you and your beautiful family.
