Hi everyone, welcome back to Darling Downs Diaries and our Good Morning Mondays Link Up.
What’s been on your agenda this past week??? We have had quite a productive week with our school. My husband had to leave quite early a couple of mornings so we had our school done well and truly before lunch. It’s been hard in the winter to get up early but with spring here it is getting easier.
It is still wet and we are probably a month away from getting on the ground to get the spring vegetable garden in. We are talking about putting in raised beds this year and we are both very excited to get going. Our garden is literally under water and we can’t risk getting the tractor bogged at this stage.

Our vegetables in the aquaponics are coming along and we are about to harvest some cabbages. We have broccoli, tomatoes, silver beet and celery growing at the moment and have just put in some lettuce seeds.
We had another calf this week and she was born to Old Crooked Horns. This is my husbands name for this cow. We are so blessed to have so many calves.
I finally managed to finish the jumper for our No 1 son and he even stopped in on his way back to NSW to model it for me. I’m not 100% sure about the buttons yet, might change them to plain grey ones. After I finished his jumper I started darning socks. I really enjoy darning socks and it’s one of my favourite jobs, and it’s a great job to do when watching a movie or just chatting after tea.
The children’s cat had kittens earlier this week and they were so excited. These little ones would have to be their favourite. She is a very good mother too, and always lets you have a cuddle.
Our No 1 son is due home on Monday and we are all excited to see him again for a few months. He has shearing jobs down here until after Christmas, so we will have him around for a bit. He’s home just in time to help with our next butchering session which is happening at the end of next week.
Okay enough already, onto our link up…

Thank you everyone for stopping by and linking up, I look forward to seeing you again this week.
Well this coming week is the usual stuff for us, school, work etc. We are butchering our pigs on Saturday and then hanging them in the cool room to be cut up the next weekend. I think we might even try and do a cow, but I’m not sure yet.
We have Bible Study this Tuesday night. We haven’t made it to the last couple so hopefully we will get there this week. Music lessons start again on the weekend, so school holidays are over. I really don’t do school holidays, except around Christmas time, because every day can be different around here so we just keep motoring with our school when we can.
I have been doing a word study on the book of Jude and I am really enjoying that. Our No 1 daughter gave me a few ideas and told me about an app to help with Bible study and that has been great.
Also a reminder about our monthly link up…This month’s topic is on Forgiveness and I hope to hear from you over there.
Also remember you don’t have to link up, but I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section, so stop over if you get the time.
Have a blessed week my friends and may God lead and guide you in your everyday life.

How exciting to see my post about my Crazy Canning Lady episode is being featured on the party this week! It was a humorous day indeed. Today I’m sharing: Easy Ways to get FREE Chicken Food; How to repurpose mesh produce bags for free; and the Lazy Cook’s method for making homemade plum jelly (no peeling, no pitting, no pectin, no KIDDING! LOL)
Love the hop, thanks for hosting!

Hey there Taylor-Made_Homestead, thanks for linking up. It was a Crazy Canning day. Thanks for sharing your posts with us all. Blessings
What a perfectly wonderful week for you and your family. I do think I’d like darker buttons on the jumper. He looks handsome in it. Kittens—just love them! Be sure to handle their paws a lot. It makes them sweeter. Enjoy!

Thanks Laura, I agree with the buttons and I changed them this week. Our kittens will get lots of cuddles, who could resist. Blessings to you this week, enjoy your Autumn.
