G’day from down under and welcome back to our Good Morning Mondays Link Up.
We’ve had a quiet week this past week. My husband has been unwell with Bronchitis so he was down for the count for a few days. We took him to the doctor and got him some antibiotics and he has now improved. He still has an awful cough but is feeling better in himself.
The weather has been beautiful which really frustrated him. The sun was shining and here he was really too sick to get out and get some work done.
I’ve tried to get some school done this week, but it is hard when dad is home, my routine really goes out the window. They had a leggo day which was great and enjoyed by them all, they are building a header/harvester at the moment and it is very challenging. I’m amazed just how much our no 2 son knows at 8 years of age about motors and how machinery works and this is just from doing leggo with dad and helping him outside.

Our pigs are still digging up the vegetable garden area and we were blessed with some loads of old hay for them to dig in. My husband just keeps moving their pen around every few days as they work the hay in and the dirt over.

We were really concerned about our bull earlier as our cows didn’t seem to be calving but now we have 4 calves and a couple more to come. Here is the latest addition born on Saturday morning and a little heifer.
My husband has found that when we cook pork chops on the BBQ it leaves the surface really nice, so I rendered some pork fat for him to use when he cooks. He is the BBQ king and he does a great job and with summer on it’s way he will be cooking on it a lot.
Our usual summer fare is bbq meat and boiled potatoes and salad. This is such a quick, easy meal and we all enjoy it, and when our vegetables are growing I really only buy the mushrooms for the salad.
We did get some sad news earlier this week. You might remember me asking you earlier to pray for our friend Mr H who had cancer, well his treatment is no longer working and they have no more drugs that they can give him. They have given him weeks, maybe months to live. So I ask now that you pray for his wife and family that they can feel God’s peace at this time. Pray that Mr H will be pain free during this period and that he will be well taken care of.
My mother-in-law is in respite at the moment so we took some tea into my father-in-law on Thursday night and shared it with him. We then did some shopping and the children had grandpa time. I think they showed him a Gunsmoke and then watched a movie. We shopped and then went and saw Mr H and his wife for a couple of hours. We could probably talk for more but thought that grandpa was probably getting worn out.
Because it’s school holidays we had no music lessons on Saturday morning so we spent the day at home doing chores around the place until it got too cold outside. My husband managed to get the lawn mowed for the first time in months so he was feeling really pleased about that.
Okay enough about us, onto our link up…

Thanks to everyone of you who faithfully stop by each week and link up, I really appreciate it.
This coming week is quiet again, no meetings for my husband just work and school hopefully.
Our no 1 son comes home this coming Sunday for about 6 months and we are really looking forward to that. The dynamics in the house will change and I will have to cook larger meals but I’m okay with that.
Now I need to apologise to you all because I thought I actually had another week before the monthly link up was due.
I don’t know where the year is going but I feel like I’m in a fog and Christmas will be just around the corner.
So I’m sorry about not putting it up last week and it will be up this coming Wednesday.
This month’s topic is on Forgiveness and I hope to hear from you over there. So please pop back over on Wednesday some time.
Also remember you don’t have to link up, but I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section, so stop over if you get the time.
What has been happening with Mr H has really impacted us and how we view our lives and we wonder how we would handle this situation. I guess that is where our thoughts have been these past days.
Have a blessed week my friends and may God lead and guide you in your everyday life.

Hey Marie, thanks for linking up, it was my pleasure to feature your post. Have a great week. Blessings
Isn’t that a new picture of you and the good husband? I like it!
Hi Michele, yep it’s a new picture, thought it was time for an update. I’ve just gotten grayer but I working on having more wisdom, but I’m not sure yet, ha ha. Thank you for your kind words too. Blessings
Lovely photo of you both! Hope your husband is better soon 🙂
Hey Gwen, thank you for that and yes my husband is improving, he is back at work but still has some asthma issues and a cough but he is much better. Blessings to you and your family this week and praying all is going well.
It’s always such a pleasure to read about your life. I enjoy the simplicity of rural life that you share, it’s quite refreshing. I hope your husband is feeling better. I have been sick for almost two weeks now, and I am debating about getting antibiotics, too. Some respiratory things just hang on, don’t they?
Prayers for Mr. H and your in-laws. Aging is so difficult – I know, as I watched my father’s decline before he passed, and now am watching my mother’s. I couldn’t do it without the help of the Lord – His strength and His comfort are the arms that carry me, and all of us.
Thanks for featuring my blog post this week. I’m happy to say that my husband is no worse for wear. No permanent damage, no pain – and he is healing very well (I was so proud of myself – I took out his stitches!!) Again, so glad that the Lord watches over us.
GOD BLESS!
