Hi there all and welcome back to our Good Morning Mondays Link Up. Wow where did that week go, the days seem to be travelling past very quickly.
I have had a quiet week at home and once again this has been nice. We got school done and really focused on it this week. No 2 sons reading is really coming along and no 2 daughter’s math is starting to click.
I was discussing with my husband the other day how a mother who didn’t really get math at school is teaching it to her children. I was more of an english/history/art girl at school and I just didn’t get math, but now I get it. I think maturity really helps with understanding different things.
We went out for tea on Tuesday night and caught up with my husbands sister and her husband. We had a lovely meal and my parents-in-law were there as well. We haven’t seen this sister for 12 months so it was nice to sit down and catch up.
I don’t know about your family, but they can be very interesting. It seems we are all brought up the same, with the same rules, food, schools etc… but we all turn out differently, we are all a mixed bunch.
We had music lessons on Friday night and then my husband went to watch an Internet Cocaine DVD at our church. This was very interesting and if you get a chance to have a look at it, it is on youtube. Opens yours eyes to screen time and the damage it can do to our children’s minds.
Music lessons went well and the children both have new pieces. They sound lovely but it will be a few weeks yet before they get them sorted.
With music out of the way we got to sleep in Saturday morning and then my husband went fencing, to keep our cattle in and I did some baking for our daughters ski trip. Only trouble when you bake, the family come in for morning tea and eat half of what you have just done, so I had to do some more. It’s nice to know they like my cooking.

We had another calf this week, so that makes 2 in total. This ones mother we don’t milk but it is nice to see that we have another heifer to breed from. This one was more Hyland than the last and looks a bit like a teddy bear.
It has been wet again and all the puddles are back but it isn’t as cold as what it has been in the past weeks which is nice. It won’t be long and we will be having true spring weather.
My husband and children have been busy building a hot house for our first tomatoes which should be ready to go out shortly. I can’t wait to dry more vegetables. I so enjoy making meals with our own meat and the dried vegetables I did earlier this year. I get a bottle of tomatoes, then chuck in the veggies and there we go we have a meal. It’s even easier if I use a slow cooker.
Okay onto our link up…

Thank you everyone for stopping by, it is always a blessing to me and I hope to you.
This coming week our No 2 daughter is off on her ski trip. They leave on Tuesday morning and get back on Friday afternoon. She is very excited and starting to get her gear together.
It will be quiet with her gone but we have a few things on. Tuesday night our bible study starts again, Wednesday night the Answers in Genesis Ark Van is in town and Thursday night my husband has his Fathers Course.
We were hoping to go on a day trip on Wednesday but we will see how that pans out.
We have music practice as usual, need to get back into that. Then on Saturday my husband and the children are off on their trip away with the other men and children from his fathers course. I am home alone, it will be quiet I think, hopefully the animals all behave themselves.
I finished knitting the beanies and scarves for the grandchildren, now I am back on my son’s jumper and I would like to finish it in the next week or so, but we’ll see.
Lots of talk here on our spring garden, I’m wondering what gardening you are talking about right now. Is it harvesting and storing or getting ready to dig up the dirt????
Our next monthly link up will be this Wednesday, boy where did that month go???Our new link up for Wednesday Wisdom Searching will commence on the 17th August, and this months topic is FAITH.
Also remember you don’t have to link up, but I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section, so stop over if you get the time.
Have a blessed week my friends and may God lead and guide you in your everyday life.

I remember teaching subjects to my daughters that I never felt qualified to teach. But somehow we all learn together, yes? I’m sure your math lessons to your kids are marvelous. 🙂
I don’t know about marvelous Lisa but I appreciate your kind words, and I love that, we all learn together, I think that’s what homeschooling is all about. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings to you and yours this week.
We have zucchini, green beans, raspberries, and some potatoes needing harvest right now.

Hey Ruth, welcome to Darling Downs Diaries. It is winter here right now so the busyness is about to start in a couple of weeks when spring really sets in. I am looking forward to being able to harvest our vegetables again, growing our own food is such a blessing. Thanks for stopping by and linking up. Have a great week. Blessings
Terri,
Things are always busy and interesting at your house. Summer is winding down, although still hot, here in far West Texas so we’re not thinking so much about gardening right now.
We’re busy here with tile installers in our house. I know it will be worth it, but it’s been a lot of work getting ready for them. It’s a little like moving with no place to go!
Have a great week,
Donna
Hey there Donna, thank you so much for your comment. I can’t imagine moving things around for tiling, that would be hard. I hope it has worked out well and you are pleased with the results. Have a blessed weekend.
Thanks, Terri, for linking up at Mondays @ Soul Survival.
