GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #44

Welcome again to another Good Mondays Link up.  We are up to Week 44 and I have been tremendously blessed  by all of you who link up and leave me encouraging comments. We all know that it only takes a few simple words of kindness to make someone feel good about themselves, so thank you to all of you who take the time.

I have had a quiet week, both younger children have been unwell and we even had no 2 son to emergency with asthma last Sunday night. They gave him some ventolin through the nebuliser and sent him home. I think the excitement of the trip made him feel a lot better. He isn’t a run and wheeze asthmatic like his dad used to be but he does get a bit of a wheeze when he has a cold.

No 2 daughter was barking with a cough during the week so we spent a fair bit of time inside trying to get her well enough to go on her ski trip.

So most of the week I was at home. We did have music lessons and the children are so excited to have some new pieces to start on and they have some lovely tunes to learn.

I finished the beanies for our granddaughters and also made one for our no 1 son.  He wasn’t around for a photo shoot so I got our daughter to model it for you.  It was made out of a thick and chunky wool which was thicker than a 12 ply and I used a size 7 needle, so it was quick to make, it only took a couple of hours and he really liked it. It is wonderful when we are appreciated for our hard work.DSC_1893I make beanies every year and I will probably make a couple of more now and put them away for next year, in case they misplace them somewhere, they always seem to go walkabout.

Now while she was modelling the beanie I got her to put on her ski gear. Here she is all ready to go and by Saturday afternoon she was so excited, and she had trouble getting to sleep last night.

Our no 1 son left last night to stay at his friends house and then they got an early start this morning (Sunday). At 6 pm they were at Mansfield organising their skis and gear and groceries. He has 3 friends with him and one who he hasn’t seen for months and I am sure they are going to have a great time.

We didn’t get to see our son-in-law or daughter and their girls yet and they are off skiing this coming week also, but we will catch up once they get home, so I don’t have any grandchildren photos for you.

So I thought I’d show you a photo of my husband and his new puppy Schnitzel.  Isn’t he cute, and the puppy isn’t bad either.DSC_1883

Enough about us, onto our link up.

Thank you to everyone for linking up and thank you also for your lovely comments regarding my commenting break at the moment. I am hoping to be back shortly and I look forward to reading your posts again in the near future.

I am sure I am going to have another quiet week this week and I have also caught a cold so I am feeling slightly unwell.

No 2 son is already missing his big sister and I want to do some extra things with him this week and I am hoping we can go to the library at some stage and I know my husband is wanting to visit one of his uncles who lives near the water and maybe we will go fishing at some stage.

All this depends on the weather and it was almost spring like on Saturday, so the fishing might happen.

I hope you all had a great week and that this week coming will be wonderful and full of joy and love.

Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”

Blessings to you all my friends. xxxx

  1. Hello Terri, been a while.

I appreciate the time you take to visit and leave comments. Enjoy your break it is needful.
God bless you and have a triumphant week.

    1. I am glad to hear from your Ifeoma and I hope you are well. I enjoy hosting this link up and reading the posts, they are so uplifting and challenging. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. May you be blessed this week. xxxx

  2. It’s always good to hear you are doing well. I hope you have filled up on Vitamin C and water, and that it won’t soon be your turn for getting sick.
    You deserve some relaxation.
And yes, that puppy is adorable. Hope he doesn’t chew up too much 🙂 .
    Blessings,

    1. Hey Deborah, no I didn’t fill up on Vitamin C and now I am full of the cold. I am feeling rather miserable, but I will survive and I am sure I will feel better in a day or so. No 2 son is taking good care of me and we are having a lovely time together. Hope you are all well and that you have a fantastic week. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings

  3. It’s good to see you are making it through sickies season so far without a lot of bad illnesses. Asthma can be a toughie, praise the Lord for the medicines He’s allowed!

Your beanies look very nice–I’m in awe of people who can make those, they are so warm and comfy. 🙂

You have a great week dear friend!

    1. Hey Angie, thanks for stopping by and I hope you are all well and that things are settling down a bit for you. Asthma can be tough and we are thankful that he only gets it occasionally with a cold. His father used to get it all the time and was quite sick with it as a child, and I am thankful that he doesn’t get it that bad anymore. Thanks for the compliment on the beanies, they are fun and quick to knit. My mother started knitting when she was 5 and she tried for years and years to teach me, but I just didn’t get it. Now that she has passed away I finally get it, definitely a timing thing, but I would love to show her what I have made. I must admit I find beanies easy but to sit and hand sew little pieces of fabric together seems to me to be rather daunting, so the feeling is mutual. Blessings to you this week, and lots of hugs. xxxx

  4. Thanks so much for your linkup, Terri. I’m so sorry the kids have been sick, but glad to know they are better now.

Summer is about over for us. We put our 2 grandchildren from North Carolina on a plane home late Friday. It’s been a busy month making sure they spent time with all the cousins, aunts & uncles here, working full time and keeping the blog going, but it’s a good kind of tired.

Summer is almost over, but not the heat. We had triple digits last week and I have a fan going on the patio to make it comfortable to sit outside and it’s not even 8 AM.

I don’t know if you follow golf. My husband is a golfer, so I sit and watch tournaments with him (even though I may have my computer on my lap :-)). We enjoyed watching Jason Day win the PGA yesterday. I told my husband I think Americans inherently like Aussies. I think we admire your spirit.

    Blessings from Texas,
    Donna

    1. Hey Donna, it sounds like you have had a wonderful but busy time, with work, grandchildren and just life. I am glad that you were able to spend time with your grandchildren during their summer holidays, what a blessing for you all.
We have definitely started to have some spring weather and they say we are going to have a long hot summer, I hope they are wrong!! I suppose I want the heat for the vegetables to grow but not for my personal well being. We are blessed where we live to get sea breezes at night which can help keep the heat at bay, but then nothing helps some days.
I don’t follow gold and at the moment we don’t have any commercial television so I don’t know about the golf, but I think it is great that you sit and watch it with your husband. So I suggest that Jason Day is Australian?? Shows how much I don’t know. It’s nice to know that you Americans like us Aussies, that definitely makes me smile.
I really enjoy your bible in a year reading, but I am behind but determined to catch up. I don’t want to skip any, that feels a bit like cheating, but I will get there. I appreciate all that you do in your busy life. Blessings to you from our corner in South Western Victoria, Australia. xxx

    1. Thank you Mary for stopping by. It is hard to imagine that someone somewhere is having hot weather when we are freezing here and it will be the same for us when we are having hot weather and all those in the Northern Hemisphere are posting comfort food casseroles. It’s amazing how the world works, what a wonderful creation. Blessings to you this week.
