GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #18

Welcome back to another Good Morning Mondays Link up. (even though I am writing this on Sunday night)

As I am sitting here my husband is on our front verandah picking a tune on his banjo that we got him for Christmas.  It was very warm today and now with the evening advancing the heat has passed and the storm clouds are rolling by and the breeze has cooled off.

It is a lovely evening and I enjoy listening to him trying to work out how to play it.  It proves that you are never too old to learn either in the physical or the spiritual.  An hour ago he was practicing the accordian with our youngest son. ( I was going to take a photo of them but he was in his pajamas and he wouldn’t have been impressed with that photo being seen by too many).

My husband has a great ear for music and so do our children (which frustrates their music teacher).  Graeme can pick up his accordian and play any tune he knows, this is a real gift.  We are so blessed that the children have inherited this trait from him, but we still continue to teach them to read music so they have the benefits of both.

This week has been good and warm (I’m not complaining) and the vegetables are growing.  We have had some rain too which is always a blessing.  Below is a picture of our driveway and the puddles.

DSC_0847[1]I really find it great to sit and listen to the rain on the roof and feel the cool air coming through the window while I work inside.

We haven’t really done anything too exciting this week, we have done school and piano and I finished the quilt I was working on.  It has been too long in the making, now I just have to send it off.  I will post pictures once my friend has received it.

This week we have our Revelation bible study and Ash Wednesday service. We have a 50th birthday party on Friday night and a 1 year old birthday and dedication party on Sunday afternoon. Hopefully in there somewhere we will catch up with our daughter and family when they return from their trip.  Oh and it’s my birthday on Friday too.

I hope your past week has been good and you achieved all you wanted to.

That’s about all from me so onto our link up.

If you haven’t had time to look at these, just click on the title and pop over you will be really blessed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who took the time to link up. To those of you who have been linking up for ages, and to those of you who have just started I am so blessed that you take the time.

I have been challenged this past week with finding an excitement with our schooling and I want to pass that onto you all.  If you don’t homeschool that’s fine, I suppose it is more about being there when our kids are around.

Blessings to you all this week, may you see the hand of God in your lives.

  1. That is pretty exciting for me! Thanks so much! The schedule is going well so far, and I hope to keep on top of it. I have enjoyed reading all your posts this week – you are such a blessing. Have a lovely week, it sounds like you will be very busy. And of course all my best wishes for a wonderful birthday. I hope you will be very spoilt!

    1. Thank you Jayne for your kind and thoughtful comment. I hope you have a good week too and thank you for the birthday wishes. My best present will hopefully be seeing our daughter and family. We haven’t seen them since Christmas and I think we are having withdrawal symptoms. Thanks again and it was a pleasure to feature your post too. Blessings.

  2. How exciting to see my post on Homemade Bread-Making Shortcuts is being featured on the hop this week! Today I’m sharing our progress for Week 1 of our Grocery No-Spend Challenge; My recipe for blueberry jam w/no pectin; Using dehydrated apples in my granola, & my thoughts on The Pursuit of Happiness.

Sounds like you’ve got a fun week ahead of ya – enjoy! Love the hop, thanks for hosting.

  3. I love when you recap your weeks. It’s like talking to a good friend on the phone and sharing our weeks. It’s a blessing to do that every week. Try to picture us all singing you happy birthday. Wish I could send you flowers, or a nice Rhode Island Red with a bow on it’s neck or something 😉 .

  4. Yes, to play by ear is a gift! I took piano lessons for 14 years…but still cannot hardly play ANYTHING by ear. It’s a unique gift! My brothers both got it…it just skipped me. 🙂

Isn’t music in the home just the greatest??

    1. The gift skipped me too, but as long as I can have music I’m ok :-). Music in the home is great, and with Dad leading them it is so much nicer and easier. Thanks for your comment and for stopping by and taking the time. Blessings

  5. Terri,

Thanks so much for another great linkup.

We think we are pretty blessed here in Southwest Texas with our weather, compared to so much of the rest of the US right now. But it sounds like spring is even closer for you all in Australia. I so enjoy hearing about your life there.

I want you to know you are such a blessing and inspiration to me for the time you take to always comment on the posts that are linked here.

Thanks so much for linking up at “Mondays @ Soul Survival.” Pinning to “Mondays @ …” board. Blessings!

    1. Thanks Donna and it is such a pleasure to stop by. I appreciate all the work you do with your posts especially the read through the bible ones. I have read through the bible before (although not for ages) and it is a good practice but I am finding it even more helpful to read your commentary along with it. Blessings

  6. It is so fun that you come hop at my place and then I run over to your place and hop. LOL Thank you for sharing at the (mis)Adventures Monday Blog Hop. Though I do have you on my hop list, it is always great to share and remind me.

  7. I loved hearing about your warm spell and rain showers. We have been in a subzero cold spell here with more snow than usual. Ugh! The great part is that it is truly beautiful! Happy Weekend!

    1. The photos I am seeing of snow are just beautiful and sometimes I wish we lived where it did snow, but I can imagine just like the heat you would get over it very quickly. Thank you for your comment and for stopping by. Blessings
