GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #15

Good morning to everyone and welcome to another Good Morning Mondays link up.  How are you all going?  We have had a good week and I am looking forward to the next one.

As I said last week we went to a turkey farm, this is across the road from the Big Koala at Dadswells Bridge, click here if you want to see more about it.

IMG_0825[1]Here is no 2 daughter and son in front of the Koala.  They had a great time there, and there was a cockatoo in a cage and it talked to them.

IMG_0828[1]They were careful not to stick their fingers in though otherwise he might have bitten them off.

We bought home 3 turkeys from the turkey farm,  see our new arrivals for more information on them.

Australia has heaps of “BIGS”.  The Big Pineapple in Queensland, the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, the Big Trout in Adaminaby, New South Wales.  These are the ones I have been to and I am sure there are heaps more.

We started school again this week and music practice.  I have decided never to have a break from music practice again.  It has been an interesting week with No 2 son and his piano, but it is finally clicking in again.  He is such a good little player with great rhythm and energy.

I have done some sewing and some cleaning up of the house. The younger children and I have nearly finished weeding the vegetable patch, and only have 2 more rows of potatoes to go.  We are blessed that the weed that is growing is easy to pull out which is also helped by the fact that we have had some more rain this week.

Our zucchinis are finally starting to fruit, which is great.  I am looking forward to canning this, to add to soups and stews.  I also add zucchini to my bottled tomatoes with onions.

This week coming we have a trip to Melbourne (3 hours away) and general school work.  I am organising with a homeschooling friend to meet together once a fortnight so that our daughters can do some craft or sewing together.  We are starting that this week and I think the girls might start on a quilt – just a basic one.

We have some friends who live near the coast and they have blackberries on their property and they have offered to let us pick some, so hopefully we can fit that in this week too.

My husband has been working from home fixing a truck for a client and it has been great to have him home.  He has more to do on the truck and then has a couple jobs away from home later in the week.

Well that’s about it for my week so on to our link up.

Our top three posts this week were:

My favourite this week was…

thmb54bc3fc45cecfBobsled Run…Off the Deck? by Gentle Joy Homemaker

I thought this was a great idea, bobsledding off the deck and then wanting to do it off the roof next year, what a great way to have fun!!!

Thank you ladies for your wonderful posts and thank you to everyone for taking the time to link up.  Each week our link up is growing and I am feeling so blessed by the effort everyone makes to stop by.

I was convicted this morning during our Sunday worship service when our pastor spoke on what we were attached to. Were we attached to things of the world that got in the road of our attachment to God.  I want to encourage all of us to look at what we are attached to and think about their importance in our lives.

Blessings to you all my dear friends.

  1. Thanks again for hosting. Just a note on the post Wise Guy by Al Fike. This is a very wonderful and practical book going through Proverbs, he takes a chapter a day for 31 days. I am sure it will be a blessing to many.

  2. Now that I’ve spent way too much time looking around your site, I’m finally linking-up. Haha. Nearly forgot why I came over.
I am in love with that Koala. They are like the mystical creature you’ve only heard of and seen pictures of. You got a great picture.
That Facebook post from last week was some good advice, and I totally intend to go look at those lamb cutlets!
    Blessings,

    1. He is a rather cute Koala, but they are quite dangerous, if you try and catch them, they would scratch you up pretty bad. Yes I agree about the Facebook post. There are some great link ups each week (yours included), and I am just learning so much. Thanks for taking the time to link up to pop over and chat and for becoming a great friend. Blessings

  3. Terri~it is such a pleasure meeting you and learning all about Darling Downs. Thank you for stopping by my site this morning so that we could have this God encounter.
I enjoyed hearing about your week’s highlights, reading about your family in the “About Us” section, and seeing a prior post you did on “the beauty within us” which began with your roses. We are in winter here in the United States, and I am in the process of pruning our roses down to the bare branches. Quite a different site for us right now but I do look forward to hearty blooms in a couple of months! Thanks for a taste of God’s beauty both inside you and in your garden.
I hope we’ll visit each other often. We were on a recent European trip with several lovely couples from Australia. So thoughtful and considerate of others!
What a blessing meeting you, Terri.

    1. Thanks so much for your thoughtful and kind comments Janis, I enjoyed also visiting you on your site. I am glad that you had a good experience with other Australian couples, and I hope you had a good trip. I must admit winter is my favourite season, but I do try and enjoy them all. Blessings to you and your family.

  4. What fun to see my posts featured!!!! It was fun to see that so many clicked on my Frugal?….or Cheap? post…. and I loved that your favorite was “Bobsled…. Off The Deck???” 🙂 By the way, we (at least my husband and I!!!!) do not plan to let the kids bobsled off the roof…. although the kids may still be hoping!!! 🙂 We’ll have fun anyway. Thank you for all of the work you do on the link up party…

    1. I am glad that you stopped by and commented, and it was my pleasure to feature your posts. There are so many good ones it is often hard to pick my favourite, but bobsledding off the deck and roof sounds like something my boys would do so it was a hit straight away. Blessings to you and your family. xxx
