GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #119

Hey there all, welcome back to our Good Morning Mondays Link Up.

How has your week been?  I hope it’s been good and encouraging and filled with God and family.

My husband started out the week doing some shed work for crutching. Our no 1 son was crutching and my husband was sweeping and dealing with the wool. On the second day our no 2 son went with and became quite proficient at doing the sweeping. It’s great that he gets the opportunity to do this work and spend time with his dad, brother and other men.

Our no 1 son on the far right crutching and our no 2 son is manning the broom.

It’s been a bit of a little critter week here with out no 2 son finding a heap of frogs and then our no 2 daughter finding this huge caterpillar .

We get these caterpillars occasionally and they are really big and green and squishy. Such a great learning time to have a look at how they work.

Then later in the week our son-in-law, no 1 daughter and their children came down and we cut up our 2 cows and 5 sheep and made sausages and filled our freezers.

It is a big job but with all of us working together it makes it much easier and fun. We are all pretty tired by the end of it, and we only finished the sausages at lunch time on Saturday.

The mincer went for most of Friday afternoon and we managed to get all the beef and lamb done and seasoned before tea. We always like to leave the meat sit overnight before putting into the skins.

Mincing the beef and lamb

We splurged and had eye fillet steak for breakfast and sausages for lunch and then on Saturday night we finished off with creamy chicken and bacon sour dough pasta (to give us a change from beef and lamb). Meal times with family are always the best and there is lots of laughter and ribbing.

Our grandson who is about 18 months old, he’s so cute.

So by Sunday we were ready for a kick back restful afternoon.

So that was our week, I’m looking forward to a more uneventful one next week.

Okay onto our link up…

Our top three posts this week were…

Thanks everyone for stopping by and linking up, it is a blessing to have you all here.

This coming week as I said should be more uneventful, though maybe a bit emotional.  Our no 1 son is getting ready to leave again on Sunday afternoon to head up north for work.

It’s been great having him home and I think we are even closer now which is just so special. So I have some mending to do for him and my husband this week and I think we also have a trip to Warrnambool maybe Thursday to do some clothes shopping. We enjoy these trips together and it’s lots of fun.

Of course it’s Easter this week but apart from sevices we won’t be doing anything else. My husband would like to keep working on the garden beds and dam that he is building before the loader has to go back.

The tomatoes are still fruiting and there are apples to can and dehydrate, so that will keep me busy as well.

I want to get some school done and find somewhat of a routine again and we have our granddaughters birthday this month and I’m busy knitting some socks for her.

So heaps to do but I want to make sure that my focus is still on God. I find that I get so task orientated I forget to slow down and listen to the children, so I want to do more of that this week and have some fun with them.

I hope you are all good and I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Also a reminder that I won’t be doing a Wednesday Wisdom Searching for a little bit while I am posting my marriage series. I’m working on the next one and it should be out shortly.

Have a great week!!!

Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”

Blessings my friends xxxx

    1. Hey there Michele, oh dear that worm doesn’t sound good. I think this guy turns into a moth or something, hopefully. Have a great weekend and a blessed Easter to you. xxx

  1. So I had to look up “crutching.” ha. That’s a new one for me! 🙂 I love that your family lives so near and dear to nature, Terri. It makes me smile each week. I wish we all could live more that way. Have a blessed Easter!
Thanks for sharing my post from last week!
