GOOD MORNING MONDAYS #118

Welcome back everyone to our Good Morning Mondays Link Up.

I’ve been watching on Instagram the changing seasons both here in the Southern Hemisphere and the Northern. We are having quite cool autumn weather whereas our friends up north have spring slowly returning.

It seems that seasons are something that we will always have to deal with. Seasons in the weather and seasons in our lives. At the moment you may have little ones that seem to take all your time or you may be finished with that and there’s other things that are keeping you busy.

Rest assured that whatever season you are in you are there because that is where God has you. I often think of that phrase “bloom where you are planted” and it’s a constant reminder to be happy in the place you are.

My husband has had a few days home this week and has been busy with our no 2 son preparing our raised beds and they have almost finished one. They need to finish the first one before they can start the second. It is looking really good and it is the perfect height for me which will be great. I’m looking forward to getting it planted with some winter vegetables in the next week or so.

Our no 2 son helping his dad by raking the soil.

Our no 1 daughter sent me home last weekend with some beautiful capsicums which I dehydrated earlier in the week. They retained their beautiful red colour and I’m looking forward to using them.

I also managed to get some apples stewed and bottled and more dehydrated. The last load I did with cinnamon and they taste amazing. I’m still working on tomatoes as well, so those that don’t sell out the front go into our pot and get stewed, de-skinned and then bottled.

Skinning the cow.

It’s that time of the year again for our next butchering session and my husband and children have been busy at that the last couple of days. We are doing 2 cows and 5 sheep this time.  It brings such joy to watch my husband and our no 1 son work so well together to do this job and the younger 2 children are also learning so much as well.

In the midst of the butchering we headed to Mt Gambier to pick up our next load of day old chickens. They are cosy and warm in their pen and have settled down nicely. Okay enough about us, onto our link up…

Once again I thank you all for stopping by and sharing your ideas and wisdom with us and I hope you are blessed by your visit.

Okay, this week I will be getting ready to help cut up the meat. I want to get a couple meals made and the house tidy so that it’ll be okay while we are busy outside. It is meant to warm up later in the week but that should make it very pleasant (at the moment it is really cold and blowing a gale).

Our son-in-law, daughter and their children will be down to help us and although it tires us out we have a great time together, and we are all looking forward to more meat in our freezers.

My husband is keen to get the raised bed finished before then but he has work this week so we will see.

We are now on school holidays (or the schools are) so we don’t have music lessons but that doesn’t mean the practice stops and we will keep on schooling as well.

Well that’s about all our news for the week and I hope you are all going well.

Also a reminder that I won’t be doing a Wednesday Wisdom Searching for a little bit while I am posting my marriage series. I’m working on the next one and it should be out shortly.

Have a great week!!!

Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”

Blessings my friends xxxx

Today I’m sharing a quite unusual post, a review of a gorgeous friend’s book about Spring in Paris, all filled with flowers in bloom, in this season the city of love becomes the city of flowers, really !

Wishing you a most lovely new week,
I’m sending blessings across the many miles,
may you and yours enjoy much gladness and peace

    1. Hey Daniela, thank you for your sweet, kind words, you are so encouraging and I look forward to hearing from you each week. Thank you for linking up also and I hope you have a great weekend my friend. Blessings

  2. The stores are beginning to sell seeds, but I’m exercising self-restraint. If I started anything indoors this early, it would get leggy and awkward before I dared to put it in the ground outside. We got about four inches of snow this weekend, but not so much that it kept boy #2 from coming home for a visit with his lovely fiancee!
    Blessed week to you!

    1. Hey there Michele, it’s good to hear from you. When can you actually start planting and how long is your season??? That’s so lovely to see your son and his fiancee, so you must have a wedding soon, so good. Blessings.

  3. “Rest assured that whatever season you are in you are there because that is where God has you.” I do find a lot of peace in that truth. So grateful that God knows better than we do! Thanks for sharing this, Terri.
