Hey there everyone, welcome back to our weekly link up. This is link up 100 and I am so blessed by your support. Thank you so much for continuing to stop by and bless me with you sweet words and encouragement for each other.
It’s been over 12 months now since I broke my leg and I also want to thank you for all your support over that time and since then with your prayers for my healing. You are all such a blessing to myself and my family.
I was home all week until Friday and my husband was home for a couple of days too. It’s great when he is home but I don’t get much school work done because our no 2 son just wants to help dad. There is much more he can learn outside with his father and we will get to the books on the days when dad isn’t home.
Some of the men our no 1 son worked with for 6 months have been doing a job not far from us so one night they all went 4WD. My husband and our no 2 son went also, our youngest was so excited and had so much fun. It was more mud bashing really because it is still so wet down here.
On Friday we went to Mt Gambier to pick up some day old laying chicks and we took advantage of the day off and did some sightseeing.
We went to the Princess Margaret Rose Caves and the children were fascinated with all the stalagmites and such. Mt Gambier is home to many caves and sink holes so we saw a couple of them too.

We also enjoy a picnic lunch on the shore of one of the crater lakes there. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the sun was very warming.
Late afternoon we picked up our chicks. They are New Hampshire cross with a White Leghorn. We like the older breeds and find that the White Leghorn are good layers.

We usually buy our chickens at point of lay but have decided to raise them ourselves this time and will continue to do this each year.
On Saturday we managed to get our meat rabbits and cage. The friend we got them from does such a great job raising them. They will take some management but I’m sure we can do it.
This is great for the children, and they learn so much helping out with the animals. Our No 2 daughter informs me that the bucks are named Fred and Gilbert and the Does are Dianna and Anne (we’ve been watching the Anne of Green Gables Series lately).
So 4 rabbits to start with and in time we will bring in another buck and doe from another line and raise some does for breeding as well.
So now we have beef, pork, lamb, fish and rabbit to eat or eventually to eat. We haven’t eaten any fish yet but hopefully in the coming months. It seems to take a fair while to get the aquaponics system up and sorted, but we’ll keep pushing on with it.
My husband has been working up ground between our fruit trees to plant peas and it has come up nicely. We decided that we are going to plant our tomatoes here instead because our other veggie patch is still under water. Our No 1 daughter and her husband have been growing our tomato seedlings for a couple of years and I think they will be ready next week.
Our season is running so late and we really haven’t had any hot weather yet. We seem to get a couple of warm days and then a couple of cold ones. We have lots of blow flies on the warm days and lots of mosquitos too and they say it’s because of the water lying around.
We finally managed to get all the bacon smoked, sliced and packed this week and it is in the freezer, so our last butchery session is finally completed for another 6 months.
Okay onto our link up…

Ways to help those who are dying or sick by Finding Joy In The Everyday
Thank you everyone for linking up and stopping by. I suggest reading the post on Ways to help those who are dying or sick, it was full of great ideas and advice.
There are so many people who are suffering around us, cancer seems to be rife and people are looking for something or someone to rest on. What a great way to share our Lord’s love with them by maybe making them a meal or helping them out somehow.
Okay this week I have a bit of running around to do earlier on, a couple of trips to town, and music lessons on Tuesday morning (lessons were postponed this week).
Then it’s home and back to normal. I am hoping to get some seed potatoes in on the weekend in straw and maybe we can get some corn and pumpkins in as well. Our tomatoes may need hardening off but they’ll be in the ground soon.
What have you got on this coming week, have you been going well???
Also a reminder about our monthly link up…This month’s topic is on CONTENTMENT and I hope to hear from you over there.
Also remember you don’t have to link up, but I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section, so stop over if you get the time.
I asked last week for you to pray for our friends little son Jotham and I ask again this week. He is still having issues and is in hospital, please if you can remember him and his family in your prayers it would be appreciated, thank you.
I pray that you will have a blessed week my friends and may God lead and guide you in your everyday life.

Congratulations on linkup #100! That along with everything else you raise and grow … I’m tired just thinking about it all!
I prayed for your friends’ little one as soon as I read your post and do hope that you are completely healthy now.
Blessings, my friend from Down Under!
Hey Donna, thanks for your kind words and also for your prayers for Jotham. I still have some stiffness in my knee and ankle but I am always improving. Hope you are well and that you have a great weekend. Blessings and thanks for your support.
I was wondering if you’ve fully recovered from that horrible break?
Hey there Elizabeth. My leg is healed but I still have some stiffness and find the mornings the hardest but we keep on going. With the seasons turning warmer and drier it is easier for me to get out and walk and that it my goal over the coming weeks to do that more often. There are always plenty of chores so we get out side often. Thanks for your care, love and support over the last 12 months, blessings to you.
