This is the cake I made for our daughters 10th birthday. I saw something like this on a blog link up but for the life of me I couldn’t find it again, so I am sorry that I can’t link you back there.
I used my basic chocolate cake recipe with added raspberries.
I layered the muffins in the lined bowl, I only iced the top ones, because these muffins are nice enough by themselves.
Tie a bit of ribbon around the bowl and it looks like a lovely floral bouquet.
You will find me linked up at some of these great blogs.
This is so cute! I like that you used different colors, but especially that you didn’t frost them all. I always feel like it would be rude to wipe the frosting off them at parties, so I always eat them. This was a very considerate thing for you to do for your guests.
Blessings,
Hey there Deborah, I agree some people don’t like the icing and some of our friends that were there are particularly keen on sweet things. This recipe is fine without it too. Thanks for sharing and for commenting, it is good to hear from you. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Blessings
How pretty! She must have loved this. 🙂 Such a great idea. Thank you for sharing. 🙂 Happy birthday to your sweet daughter!
Thanks Cheryl, she was thrilled with the cake and it was easy to do. Thanks also for the birthday greetings, they are passed on. Blessings
That was a great idea! You are quite creative! 🙂
Oh thank you Angie, but the idea wasn’t originally mine, I just put my twist to it. I was really pleased with how it turned out and it was so easy. Blessings
I love this idea! Our family has celiac disease and birthdays become a little expensive if we go buy a cake from our local gf bakery. I like this idea. I could make one in the am filled with birthday muffins and then have another in the evening filled with a variety of yummy cupcakes. Woo hoo!
Great idea Nicki, let me know how you go with this, sometimes here people have just muffins on stands with candles and that is the birthday cake, they do look good. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings
I’m in love with this! Thank you for sharing this with us! Pinned and tweeted! I hope to see you at tonight’s party. We are always so impressed with your creations and can’t wait to see them! Lou Lou Girls
