ABOUT US

Let it be known from the beginning that all who live at Darling Downs are Christian.  We all believe in God and wait for the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  We are truly blessed by all that God has given us and have an insatiable desire to share it with those around us.

Who lives at Darling Downs:

Graeme: Husband, Father,  Grandfather and generally all round fantastic bloke. Graeme is a farming contractor and works fixing and building things. When he is not working out he is at home working on the farm, fixing and building things (you see a pattern developing). He works hard to provide for us and is loved by us all.

Terri: Wife, mother and Grandmother and the one writing this blog. I am a stay at home mum who homeschools our youngest 2 children.  I love being home with them and enjoy all that living here entails.  I have a desire to see our children achieve their dreams.

No 1 daughter: Our eldest daughter is married to a wonderful man with 7 beautiful children, if you would like to read more about them please go to clayclancultivates.com

No 1 son: Our eldest son is married to the love of his life and they now have 2 sons.  They are working to be a mobile family (admidst lockdowns) and are now living in NSW and tend to travel as a family.

No 2 daughter: Is 16 years old and is a lovely young lady. She is a very talented artist and loves her dogs and is a wonderful blessing and help to us all.

No 2 son:   Is  13 and is a wonderful young man. He is his father’s right hand man and fills in and helps while his dad is away working. He does his schooling along with his life learning chores and farm work. He is a budding leather worker and sells dog collars and various other items.

  1. Hi Terri! Hello from Canada! I am so glad to have found your lovely blog! I will be catching up on all the goings on over the next few day and look forward to getting to know you and your family!-Sue

  2. Hello from Alabama, USA. I found your blog on the Missional Women Website. I love your site. My husband and I along with our 11 year son raise sheep, zebu cattle, american guinea hogs, chickens, rabbits and the keeper of the farm Ben the Border Collie. I look forward to following you in 2015. Many smiles and blessings in the new year for you and your family.

    1. Hello Tracy, I am so excited to hear from you and glad that you stopped by. Sounds like a great place where you live with lots happening, your cattle and hogs sound fascinating. I am also looking forward to getting to know you better. Blessings to you and your family.

  3. It was fun to read the “about page” from the Coffee and Conversation link up 🙂 It sounds like we share a similar lifestyle with homemaking, homeschooling and a hard-working, God-fearing husband who works and is constantly building and fixing things on the farm 🙂 Have a lovely week!

  4. I’m so very glad you linked your About page with us! We have much in common…lovers of Christ, 4 children with 2 still homeschooling, productive Godly husbands, and we blog! It’s also very interesting to learn that your daughter’s blog is Clay Clan Cultivates! I so enjoy both of your blogs and didn’t realize the connection. 🙂

    1. Hi Candy, I read on your about page that you were married in 1989, so were we, it is actually our anniversary today (14th). It amazes me how we can have almost twin sisters a whole world away with so much in common and hearts for the same things. Thanks for your thoughtful comments and I am glad you enjoy our blogs because I definitely enjoy yours and I am learning so much from you. Blessings

  5. So great to “meet” you! I have seen your posts pop up all around the blogosphere and hadn’t read about your fam yet. Glad I had the opportunity! 🙂

  6. Hi Terri. Nice to meet you. I’m in Brisbane but my Mum grew up in Fernvale on her parent’s dairy farm. I come from a long line of dairy farmers in the Fassifern Valley and beyond. Your newest followers.

    1. It’s definitely a small world Anne. My mum grew up at Greenwood, the daughter of dairy farmers, but then she married a man from Brisbane and the farming experience ended there. Thanks for stopping by looking forward to getting to know you. Blessings

  7. I am so thankful to have found your blog! You are such a dear blessing to me, both by the wonderful encouragement I find here on your blog AND through the dear, kind comments you leave on my blog. May God richly and abundantly bless you and your sweet family. 🙂 Wish we didn’t live so far apart…it would be so nice to meet you, but we have eternity in Heaven together to get to know one another! 🙂

    1. Oh Cheryl, what a wonderful time we will have together. Thank you for your thoughtful and kind comments. Blessings to you and your family too, may you be encouraged by our on line relationship as I am.

  8. Thanks Terri for adding me to your blog. Have just found out about different blogs through Cheapskates and My Abundant life. I am a homemaker in Melbourne. Reading about interesting home ideas helps me tremendously. May you be richly blessed by sharing information through your blogs.

  9. Hi Terri!
Thank you for leaving a comment on my latest post. Your comment really stuck with me, as you share about your precious child who was still – born. I am opening up this section on my blog, to share about our hard times but where God’s hope and love comes through. I was wondering if you would be willing to share this particular story, as it can encourage many. You can email me if you are led to aliyahreflections@gmail.com

    1. Thank you so much Aliyah for your comment and for the offer to share our story. I will definitely give it some thought and get back to you. Thank you for your heart to help others. Blessings

  10. Short, but sweet, trawling on from Jenny of Elefantz I have found you and received rich blessings from your words too. Firstly drawn to the fact that you were at Port Fairy yesterday and that is where I am writing to you from now. Many happy hours will now be spent learning from your written words and ideas and ideals. Lorraine x
